There can be only one.

Great thread! You guys have some beautiful stuff. Every knife is unique, and I don't mean to compare one to the other, but I particularly like what I'm seeing in the "elegant but practical" category. My father introduced me to knife collecting when I was very little, and I still see knives in the same way as he showed me: beautiful sculptures that are also practical tools. Seen in that light the Burgess and the Fiddleback really stand out for me - and the Crump is just so... well, if I had to choose only one out of the whole thread so far, I'd take the Crump!

Not as nice as some of these, but here's my favorite to date.

Thanks, DRider. :) I think you just made my day.

Great work by everyone here. I'm really enjoying this thread. Hopefully more makers will be able to post their favorites. Thanks for starting this, Mark.

Nice thread idea; lots of nice work.

Not that I have much to choose from as my 5th and 6th forged blades are WIP's, this is my 4th and favorite... I traded it for 75lbs of blade steel.

Man, I really love seeing y'all work. I may never be on the same level, but seeing what you guys can do with your hands is really an inspiration.

I love this thread. Knifemakers are special people. Its interesting to see what knives people are most proud of. Most seem to be either a maker's first in a given style, first knife overall, or the pinnacle of their abilities at this time.

One additional knife that made me feel the most special was one which received the most flattering customer review...it truely sticks with me to this day. It ended up being a gift to an olympic athlete. Knowing that customer was so thrilled and knowing who it went to is something I will never forget.

I made this for my son, Kevin and gave it to him, when he completed basic.

He is stationed at McDill AFB in Tampa, Florida.

The knife is not my best or most intricate, but the love and respect that went into it, makes it my favorite by far.

For me it would have to be this one. It was my first pipe hawk, and the customer who ordered it absolutely loves it!

This is probably the one, although I have a dagger that will be probably edge it out in the future, so to speak.tomberlinbowBlkRap.jpg

So far this is the one that I like the best. It brings back the best memories of gettting through and also getting the check.

My number one knife is this one. Not only because of the work involved but because it was one of my knives I used to get my membership in the Knifemakers Guild. I got one I'm working on now that is going to take its place though.
