There can be only one.

Haven't done many yet. This one although unorthodox, I like the best.

I've thought pretty hard about this. That's kinda why I started this thread.

I'm going to cheat and have three number ones :D

This is number one as far as really coming up with a concept that was some "out of the box" thinking.

This is number one as a collaboration in design with my lovely Wife Deb.

And this one as for the pleasure it gave me to make it for such a great person. And please ignore the MS label on the hawk photo. I'm far better than that :) Kidding...

Well this is my favorite right now because it is the first one I have done from start to finish, also it is my first sheath. It went to a now friend in the knife exchange.

My first knife will always be special. Though I tend to get infatuated with whatever knife I just finished.

These are all some awsome knives that everyone has been showing makes it hard to post a pic of my favorite.
I would have to say this skinner is my favorite for now but here will be better ones to come. This is cool because the quench like is just from an oil quench and the way the steel harden.

Hands done this one is the one I am most proud of. Of course there is a story involved , it started with me visiting Trace Rinaldi at his shop when I was visiting in Calif on a business trip , Trace gave me a quick grinding lesson , by profiling out the blade ( a XL Gambit ) and ruffing in the grinds , it went in his next batch to Paul for HT. He then sent it to me to finish.

I let it sit till my skills developed to where I felt I would not mess it up. I did the final grinds on it and raised them a bit higher than his normal model ( believe me , not on purpose ). As I was working on it , a friend dropped by and mentioned how much he liked it , he stopped by often to see it get closer to completion.

Well , this friends son , age 7 passed away from a lifelong illness. It was then I knew exactly what to do with this knife , a couple calls and it was in motion. It would be a tribute to Finn , who was indeed , Daddy's Little Hero.

Finn was always a pleasure to see , for all his ailments , he was always smiling , I still remember that smile to this day.

The blade once hand satin'd by me was sent to Kit Carson , who agreed to engrave the blade , then back to me for Koa scales with red liner and a leather sheath ( stamped with firefighter stamp as my bud is a full time hosehead ). My wife then stepped in and completed a box kit. Kit also engraved a practice plate in TI and we placed that in the box as well. It was a month or 2 after his son passed that I was able to finish it all , we invited him over to see the finished knife.

Design & Primary grinds: Trace Rinaldi
Final Grinds , hand satin , handle & sheath : ME
Engraving : Kit Carson
Box : Wife

Perhaps not my best work , not my best hand satin , but with each stroke of the paper , I was forced to choke back tears , it was the hardest , yet most rewarding knife to work on.

Soldier on young hero , you are gone but not forgotten.

I will have to get an updated pict of it , after he received it it was then sent back to each of us for us to put our logo's on it.

Not a knife, but I finished this today. I'm pretty pleased with it.

Ryan, if you find out let me know. ;) It has been described as "The Castrator". :D More of an artsy piece than a purpose oriented knife.

Thanks gents for the good words. It means a lot to an aspiring knifemaker.
