There is always room for improvement! 💪🏼

Been dealing with a left biceps strain since February this year.
Had an MRI and biceps, common flexors, and extensors tendons all had tendinosis…
The ulnar nerve was hypersensitive and enlarged, and there was scar remodeling of the radial collateral ligament.
So. I gotta catch up to Tony^
I think I curled 20lbs yesterday without pain? A win is a win.

This strain obviously derailed the road back to the swole body of my youth.

It's kind of crazy how rapidly a body deconditions from even a relatively short hiatus.

7 week break after the hernia surgery, and despite starting off relatively easy, I'm feeling muscle soreness longer than normal, despite starting back with lighter weights.

Did shoulder flys/raises working up to 30lb dumbbells and shrugs with 125lb dumbbells, and everything felt good. I'll see how it feels tomorrow and the next day 😅

I can see how people get discouraged from setbacks. For me, it's just motivation to see how long it takes to get back to where I was, then continue pushing for progress.

Haven't been happy with my progress or results. Still didn't make it up to 100 squats in a row yet, and even took a number of days off, losing momemtum. I think a lot of it has to do with just being older and not recovering as fast. Get more sore than I used to, etc.

So, I am adding back the glutamine and creatine to the daily intake to assist further training improvements (I had run out, and just cruised by without them for a few months). But trying it out in something new:

Warm glass of water from the tap (ie well) with:
Two spoons of cherry concentrate, a scoop each of BCAAs, glutamine, creatine. The new drink started today, after everything I ordered showed up. Tastes kinda gross. I'll learn to love it, like I did with broccoli. We'll see how it goes.

Also taking Omega3 soft gels now, I never used to before.

No more coffee after 3 pm. Earlier this year I was on a day cycle, but gradually made my way back to being up at night, and the late coffee surely wasn't helping, so only water at the shop from now on. Also, further reading led me to learn that glutamine is heat sensitive, so I may have been curtailing much of its benefit by putting it in coffee.

that's a solid setup.
I’ve turned my 3 car garage into my own personal man cave.

Here are my workout stations.

My camping fridge is excellent for garages. I keep mine running all the time in garage. Both sides can either be freezer or refrigerator. Got mine set so the small side holds my kids popsicles. Big side holds some drinks for me. Which I hadn’t realized had gotten so low. Typically only couple buds and rest are dark beers. Usually just get like a variety 6 pack a month, not a big drinker. Oh and the corona is for whenever my neighbor that doesn’t know how to do anything comes over to ask me to fix something for him😂😎.

Very nice. But I think you need to up your game with the amount of those little boxes behind your large squat rack. 🤣🤣

This right here is my favorite type of working out. Go swing an axe for 45 minutes and tell me it’s not a workout! All my neighbors know I’ll take there big trees if they have to cut them down or if a storm blows one down. Now I just take their big stuff they have to clean up their own limbs:)

But this right here is what I attribute to keeping my 53yo body in shape the most. I chop at least once a week and maybe twice if have a lot of wood.
