There's your chance at a Soul blade

I wonder how him changing the description after someone had already placed a proxy bid will affect the deal, and how that site deals with him when someone receives an empty box?

Or do you suppose that they will actually receive the blade and he is just throwing smoke to cover breaking his word to Jerry?

Seems a tad on the wierd side for my money.

Ummm, the whole juvenile passive aggressive sale that is the topic of this thread? He is clearly very upset about something and is trying to exact some sort of revenge.

I don't follow how you don't follow.

I know of another Busse knife of historical significance that Ed was trying to sell, and he wanted to make sure it went to someone who would appreciate it for what it was. Selling the SOUL-1 is certainly out of character with that attitude. Shame, that. :(

My take is that he simply is selling knives as he needs money.

I can't help think that he wouldn't have been better off contacting Jerry directly before listing this. Bossman might have bought it back from him, who knows. I understand selling knives because you need the money, been there done that, may be there again. I admit, I went looking for a picture:D As Blade 2003 was before I decided I needed to make an annual pilgrimage to Atlanta...

If anybody here becomes involved in bidding on that knife knowing that Jerry gave explicit instructions to the owners that they could never be sold, then those folks are as dishonorable as Walkingman.

b.s.

I bid it to 200 and would have sent it directly to jerry free of charge had I won it. I've done similar things before and would have followed through. If money was no object to me I'd have bid it to 1,000$, but I'm poor as hell right now. that thing shouldn't be on the open market, it should have been melted down before going to ebay.

and theres no way he can get away with sending an empty box unless he clearly states as much. he's listing in the fixed blades section of ebay - he has to send something. I'm possitive that if he pulled something retarded like that the very least you could do is get ebay to force a refund of money.

I'm of the opinion that he meant to put it up with a reserve but failed to do so, didn't want the attention the sale started to stir up, and then backpeddled.

Here is my unfortunate experience with Ol' Ed, it was not a good one & I luckily found his real phone number & only after I personally called him a few times & weeks of waiting did I finally get my knife.

I would not deal with him ever again.

Sorry, friend, I still disagree. By bidding on it, you encourage him (and possibly others in the future) to actually sell it believing that they may be able to get some money for it. I don't care about your motivations. It's your actions that encourage him to do something that he agreed not to do, something that makes him look even more pathetic. I don't care why he's selling it either. His "word" is obviously not worth anything.

Listing got closed for those who didn't see it. Waaaaay too ephemeral for me anyhoo. Selling a blade's soul. Oy!

The reason I would send it to jerry if I won it is because I don't want the knife and having it in my possession would encourage -me- to sell it for money when times get rough. the whole idea of the process, being that there are 31 of these things, is to get those free roaming knives out of the market permanently, or at the very least give them back for redistribution to someone who has some balls to endure poverty without going back on their word. once that knife is out of his hands the whole issue of encouraging him becomes moot.

his "word" on a personal level is not the same as his "word" in that sale, and with ebay. ebay is considered a legally binding sales contract and his home adress, phone number, work address, and work email are all posted on the internet (and very easy to find). he would not get away with renigging on a sale like this, even with the shoddy item description. I encourage anyone who has the money and the willingness to buy up every one of these and get them off the market permanently. if you don't want the knife or feel there's -any- chance of you reselling it, send it back to jerry or melt it.

Man, you are being a little sanctimonious and judgemental, aren't you...

And this thread, and your comments are not also encouraging him???

Even if He lost His job at the Hotdog factory and needed cash,
Why all the less than witty insults to Busse Combat?:confused:

If he had come out and said "i need to feed my kids, so this goes up for sale, drama or not" I'd have had a lot more respect for him. trying to word a sale in a way that free's you from actually having to send the implied item is a pretty lame grift.

Closed or pulled?

"Closed for an error in the listing." Read objectively, I think it's obvious that wm had no intention of sending the winning bidder a knife, or at least not any Busse offering. His only intent was to troll the forum in the only way he has left.
