That top one looks like a shrunken Esee-3. It's nice though, but I think that one you'd like better with some sort of scales not just plain. I do like the second one too, it looks like something that I've seen that was even smaller but thrown into an altoids tin. The bottom one I'd be happy with as well, but I also love that size knife.
Dude, you are not getting me in your van down by the river.
You'd be lucky to get in my van! It's usually reserved for candy lovers and strippers!

Thats awesome. We share the same anniversary.

Looks like we found the right ones to put up with us eh? lol

I think I'm going to relax tonight with a little bit of black bubble. The rain has sapped my energy and I really don't feel like hitting the treadmill.

So, this is how my day started:

Spinach cheese omelet with bacon and sauteed onions.

Then I got the call that I didn't get the job in South Dakota because I have 14 points on my license (WTF?! If I had 14 points I wouldn't HAVE a license, in missouri if you get 12 points you get revoked for a year!) Apparently they are "Inactive" points that aren't able to be purged from my license, well some of them are however not enough to get me the job.

So, I moved up Thirsty Thursday to "FIA Wednesday" and this is how my day is now:

(although significantly less of the orange juice concoction) CHEERS!

Cheers Cbear,

Sorry to hear about the job bud.

cord wrapped the handle on my "Garage Shank"

Nah, just a matter of taking one's time. I'd just drill most of it out and cut/file down to the contours. Obviously it will go faster on thin stock and cost more on thick stock. Knives that size don't need to be very thick anyway.

:D

Sweet man, sounding good so far LOL

and yea i dont want these to be thick. Just good slicers.

Thanks man!

What did you get? Some of their kit is very good!

Chromium Thermal jacket. Good reviews and a great price, considering the brand.

TNF is like a preppy badge where I work, but despite the trendiness, every piece of their gear I've owned has been top-notch. I wore a pair of the hiking shoes till the Vibram soles wore out, and I've had a couple pair of their pants for years.

Hey all ! I've given up trying to keep up with the snark. Only worked 11.5 hours today, but yesterday was a 14.5 hour day. The long days, plus all the blowing sand and micro-dust in the El Paso/Las Cruces area is killing me. Even after a couple showers, I think I still have grime stuck in all my bodily crevices... Now I think I need sleep.

Might I suggest wearing clothes next time you go to work. It really helps cut down on the dirt getting into places it shouldn't be.

I recently got a Kabar 1277 Large Heavy Bowie off fleabay. The auction was actually for the Kabar and 4 other knives. I only wanted the Kabar, but the price was right and I could sell the 3 Winchester Chinese-made Call-Out Drop Point knives for sure. The 4th knife was one of those little funky "plastic eagle painted" truck stop folding knives and I figured I could always just through it in some knife I sold as a freebie.

The package arrived today. The Winchesters were just what I thought the were. Nice knives, unknown steel, may keep one of them for a beater. And then there was "the little eagle folder". Here it is, sandwiched between a BK6 and a BK9. So much for it being a typical "little truck stop folder".

Same thing with Patagonia. I still have stuff I bought 20 some years ago from them, and the only piece that broke a zipper they replaced in-store because they didn't have the right color zipper to repair it with. I worked a while in retail sporting goods (which made the Patagonia stuff an amazing deal) and most of those companies have their (generally excellent) service built into the price. Mountain Hardwear replaced a rainshell for me last summer for the cost of one way postage. TNF makes excellent stuff regardless if it's ever used as hard as intended.

Have you gotten in touch with Andre the Giant to let him know you found his knife? That looks totally 'shopped.

Why are you tired if you're only working half days? (½ of 24 is 12....)

Can't be shopped cause I don't know how to do that. :D When I opened the package and saw the Kabar, I knew what package it was and started looking for the other 4 knives. I pulled out a "loose" Call-Down and then another in a box. When I pulled out the next box, I just assumed it was another Call-Down in a weird box and then I while looking for the 'little folding knife" I found another "loose" Winchester, and said "Huh??" or words to that effect. I kept digging for the folder and couldn't find it. Then I opened the "weird" box and damn near popped my eyes out of their sockets when I saw it. The dang thing weighs MORE THAN a BK2.

That's a BIG truck stop knife! Lol:D

I think I found an apartment I like. 2bed 2 bath for $700 a month, I only have to pay electric and internet, plus cable if I wanted it but I don't. It's a little spendier than some but it is a two bath and after I find a room mate I won't be paying much more than I am now. It's not available for two weeks though which only gives me two weeks to get moved in before I have to be out of here. Shouldn't be much of a problem though.

Yeah, add another 400 miles onto the drive to E's house, then 250 miles to Blade. It's too much of a drive to do from across the country in a day. Even if I ran at 100 the whole time it would take me 15 hours and there is no way I can average 10 miles an hour faster than Alex Roy did on his record breaking run across the country in 2006.

it's only 60 extra miles to hotlanta from St Louis than it is to Vonore by my maps?
you just stay on 24 from Nashville to Chatanooga then turn onto 75 South rather than changing from 24 to 40 in nashville.
