I bought a North Face jacket today. I'm really too cool for this place now.

I just walked around and said good bye to all of the people I liked or respected. It only took 4 mins.

I didn't even give notice at the PO, just called in one day and told 'em to go pound sand. They were shocked that I would turn my back on such a rewarding and promising career. The woman I was speaking to proceeded to give me a screaming lecture about what a terrible person I was, and if I had any guts I would show up to work that night and finish my schedule... cause y'know, that's gonna convince me to keep working there. I hung up on her and never looked back.

In other news, I slapped some sort of bug off my shoulder last night. It kinda hurt but I didn't think much of it... and now my finger is swollen up like a damn balloon animal. Apparently the bug got his final revenge and stung my hand... :grumpy:

And im not seeing very many knives with mosaic pins right in the steel online, im looking but only found a couple.. But me and the wife definitely seen a knife with the pin in just the steel.. Is this going to be a difficult task to have done??

Nope, not at all. I'd just fit it snug and use a little JB-Weld to hold it in place... that seems to work best for metal-to-metal bonds. It won't really be under any stress anyway.

So James, I guess it would work for you too, haha. :D

That's what I'm sayin!

I'm trying to get some 5160 from my brother in law the next time he replaces some leaf springs.

Good grief just order a bar of 1080 or 1084, you'll be a lot better off. Hell, if you're coming to the Gathering just remind me and I'll give you a piece.

The end of the day tomorrow can't come soon enough, its the last time I have to walk in and out of this place. Never have I worked in a place with so many rude and disrepectful people.

Keep it together. You're almost there!

Hey, I'm gold again, woo hoo! Gonna set you guys out here. A big thanks to LeeBower, and cbwoods67, for buying me gold. Lee bought me gold, and cbwoods didn't know it, and he bought it for me too. I told him about it, and he said it looks like I have 2 years now. You guys are awesome. I owe both of ya's big time.

Good karma! Nice to have you back in gold!

Thanks James,

Thats GREAT to hear!! It was the first time my wife actually talked about a knife more than me, i thought it was cool but she kept going on about it, asking why none of my knives have that, does anyone on "my forums" make knives like that blah blah blah LMAO..... If everything comes together i think she is going to flip her wig come Xmas.... Still need to pick and finish the design, pick the finish for mine, Oh yea, and find a maker wanting to make them LMAO

Do you think the handle cutouts will be a problem without a water jet or some other fancy machinery?

Still not decided on steel but im thinking maybe a Stainless... That way i dont have to worry as much if the wife keeps it oiled or not. She likes them shiny, so hers will be... Mine may be coated, etched, stonewashed or something.

Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately I will not be able to make the gathering :( Between the wife and my work schedule it wont work. I also need to save all my time off for when child #3 make its way into the world in July.

A buddy of mine apparently has a friend that works in the steel industry. Apparently all I need to do is give him the type and measurements of stock I want and he'll get it for me. Before I do that I want to finish my garage. I need to clean it up and build a better work bench.

Oh snap... and I just realized the weekend of the gathering is my anniversary. Looks like I definitely can't sneak away now lol.

BTW WW, My vote is for the bottom one ;)

What weekend is the gathering? My 9 year anniversary is May 16th. Yours?

And yea i like the bottom one, but like i mentioned my wife never liked too small of knives. She thought the candiru was dumb, and that was my favorite esee knife LOL But she likes the size of the BK14.. So i dont want to go too small that she doesnt like it or want to use it....

What do you think of the bottom one?? Hell its not much different than the BK14, just different cut out in the handle, little more angle, little less guard, and a mosaic pin.

Picked this up at BeckerWest as a prize from 710 for winning the slingshot competition. A very interesting, yet kick-ass blade! Thanks JD!!!!

Mine is also May 16! This will be our 5 year. I have known my wife for 14 years :) Dated for 4, split our ways for university / college, then got back together. Immediately got engaged and got married 2 years after.

I like the bottom one. The only thing I would keep from the middle one is that sleek line on the top of the blade. The way that it drops down on that curve to the point.

Nah, just a matter of taking one's time. I'd just drill most of it out and cut/file down to the contours. Obviously it will go faster on thin stock and cost more on thick stock. Knives that size don't need to be very thick anyway.

Homeless lunatic could be good.

:D
