Thinking of buying a Boomslang..

I think he meant a higher grind. the boomslang could use it for sure. mine has gone to the belt twice, but now I'm happy with it.

collecter: want..need...are relative terms for this blade addiction. one of these days I will sit down and evaluate the "need" I may have for any particular knife that I own. In reality, I know I would be perfectly fine with just one stout blade between 4-6 inches of easily sharpened blade and a good pocket knife. My heart doesn't see things in the same way...

That makes more sense in terms of an improvement, but the Warlock still isn't out so we don't know if it has a higher grind or not. :p

My theory with the problem that the Boomslang and goloks were going through was that whoever was doing the flat grinding wasn't taking the angle acute enough, leaving a lot of material for the sharpener to try to remove. The sharpener, in turn, widens the bevel to save on time so they can keep pace with production. Sort of a cascading effect.
