This grab bag thing is exiting!

Would have liked to go in on a grab bag, but this week's pick of the grudge threw me for a loop since I have to have three of them! If this week's selection was a Battle Guppy, then I would have gone for a big bag! Secondly, I am a picky buyer and I'm probably thrilled by maybe 25% of the existing models, because I don't like coated blades or super huge choppers, so I'd probably be playing bad odds with a grab bag, even if the value is well beyond the price of the bag. Good luck to those who went for it! The exchange will be wild once they start shipping, so that will be fun to see regardless..

Do I cancel my SHE and go for the large grab bag?

Not sure how that's viewed,, once you buy they make a commitment to fulfil that order.
I could be wrong but I think it could cause a lot of hassle if they had people cancel orders every time they saw another blade they want.
Just my opinion

That's how I see it too.

Or.. that's how they get stuff for the grab bag.

I would not cancel a standing order for a knife in favor of the grab bag even if Busse had no problem with it. I know they will make sure everyone is well rewarded but I'm not passing on a knife I "love" for the chance at anywhere from "Love" to "don't want".

Also keep in mind, we have no idea how many of each knife is being made or sold. My guess is the grab bag will have a larger percentage of knives where there were a ton of them made. I think we may see a "holy grail" or two emerge from this party, maybe the SHE will be one of them ;)

Based on how quickly the Fudge was last called and how few people fessed up to buying one, I think there won't be many, glad I'm in :)

New guy here, been following this OP2 Weeks from the start and have missed out on a one or two that have been looking for.mAll the excitement just got to me and jumped on the 250.00 mystery box. My theory is I'm looking for mid sized hunting / camping knife really have no use for a big chopper as nice as they are, so figure have less chance of a big chopper with the 250.00 bag. Will see how it goes!!!

Im still on the fence about gettun a mystery bag. Exchange rate for Canada is too crazy right now

Depends on how you look at it, 250.00 purchase price with 350.00 worth of merchandise one might argue that now is the perfect time to buy. Lol

On a related note, for any other Canadians getting in on this mystery box, we might have to set up a seperate post for possible trades?

Could be, but the way I see it, that's intentionally hurting someone that is doing you a favor. Say the knife in question had a $350 sale price and you committed to it. Now you cancel that order and they throw it in a $250 bag. They just took a $100 hit. Granted, there has to be enough profit margin built in where they're still making a few bucks or they wouldn't be doing it, but it still doesn't seem right to me.

I wasn't supporting canceling an order, just pointing out that it probably happens. As someone who takes orders all of the time with no money down I work on blind faith and know the feeling.

Not too long ago Jerry posted regarding contacting Lexi if we missed out on a release, pretty sure among the reasons knives were available was cancellations. I got a battlesaw that way and was happy for the opportunity. I'm sure it happens and unfortunately it'll probably happen a lot during O2W. People place an order with the best intentions, lose their job or have financial issues, max out their card and by the time the order is ready some months later, when Busse goes to charge it they can't.

Totally agree. It happens and I can't imagine anybody ever even guving a second though to a cancellation due to hardship. I was just giving my two cents on the question that someone asked if they should cancel their knife order to fund a grab bag. Personally, I don't think they should, but that just my opinion and it isn't worth much. Just ask my wife. Haha!

I wouldn't cancel my order for something I definitely want in order to buy something I might or might not want.

A grab bag is just that. Might get something you'd like, might not. A Steel Heart is exactly what it is. And it is exactly what you wanted to order when you ordered it.

It might sound logical, except the few that paid $145 I think it was for a Mystery Item ended up getting MMDs, which are a hell of a chopper.

You may be better off upgrading to the $500 bag, and getting multiple knives that total $800 in value you should get some mid sized hunting / camping knives. :)

That actually brings up a good point. I was firmly in the "shouldn't cancel orders committed to" camp, however, I suppose there is the possibility that people are holding on to orders for blades they don't really want for whatever reason anymore, and meanwhile, there are people in line waiting and hoping for people to cancel orders so they can jump on a previous missed opportunity. I'm on a few lists now.

I guess what it boils down to is there are too many variables to stand hard and fast one way or the other. I'm sure if it became too out of control Busse would update their policy accordingly.

On a separate note, I can't believe Battlesaws are still shipping out. Feels like I received mine so long ago.

But then again, it might, or might not be multiple knives. That's the beauty and the risk of buying a mystery bag.

Are you devil's advocating my devil's advocate?

Exactly...

I play a model based wargame with my son called Warhammer 40,000. We always have a "mystery item" placed dead center of the board...

My son always says the same thing about the mystery item: could be something good, could hurt the sh*t out of you!

I found my self hoping to get CS Urban Grudge in the bag...
Than i ask my self Why not just add $100 and buy one instead of the bag ? But the Force is too strong with this one lol just got to know whats in the bag lol

Does the "Black List" exist? If so, anybody know how many orders you have to cancel to get on it? Not planning on doing, would like know though and don't wanna start a thread about it.

The way I look at it is that it's all about the timing. My experience is that everything that I order won't hit all at once giving me time to put money aside for all of my orders each pay day. I also put it on my CC just in case and use that one mostly just for blades. Has a really low interest so I don't stress it much.

I'm not in the camp of cancelling due to how upset would you be if your box was something you didn't want and you missed out? But then you also run the risk of getting a duplicate of something you already have. All the fun is in the chance.

Also, we should set up a mystery box exchange for swapping g and trading
