that's an original design by kevin himself

There is no Kevin.

These knives are shit from the counterfeit factory you work in, you ain't pulling the wool over my eyes.

design theft, fake branding and theft of registered/licensed designs/features.

Has a Derick Munroe look to it.

It's the exact same blade as the Spyderco Ulize, just a different handle. Also "Kevin" stole the Spyder hole.

p.aspx

you mean this blade?

Shenny puts up a fake Boker, then your thread with the fake ZT, XM-18, and Sebenza by this same "Kevin" guy, and now this. All in the past 24 hours.
This one by "Kevin" may not be a direct copy, but I hope people won't buy from a guy(company) that does make copies.

I'm sure all of these will be on ebay soon, or may be there now.

I'm pretty sure these predate the Ulize. I've been seeing these things on auction sites for quite a long time now...when did Spyderco release the Ulize?

This pattern is starting to look very familiar...

Stage 1: Someone, somewhere posts something about a non-knockoff Chinese knife
Stage 2: People immediately start crying about knockoff knives and getting irate with one another
Stage 3: The thread gets locked / W&C'd because people just can't resist name-calling or political ranting

...and not a single civilized discussion is had.

But not quite.

The OP has been spamming the forum with rip offs from the counterfeiting factory I suspect he works for.

He has posted exact rip offs, including unauthorised licensed design features in his spam threads which are being locked.

You suspect he works for a counterfeit ring? Do you have any proof other than him posting pictures of knives made in his country? Because I can post a picture of al capone but that isnt going to make me a mobster, lol. Also if you live in another country you live by their laws, not USA law. In other countries what they are doing is fine as long as they dont use the company names and logos. Which is why most newer K. John knives (whether he is a real person or not) dont utilize the hinderer logo or other logos. There are plenty of fakes that do though and I understand that. But again, Ive had a few of these copies in hand. And while they may not be ethical they are not all crap knives. Some of them dare I say actually surprised me and are quite good. There is a lot of crap there but if you know which models to buy some are actually amazing for the price. And Ill say it again, there are plenty of makers and companies in the knife industry right on our own USA soil that rip each other off everyday. It doesnt make it right but it happens. Do you know how many custom makers getting started right now will make you either a copy or something with a trademark Spydie hole? Many. and technically that little groove that extends into the hole in the blade on this K. john knife changes it enough to where it would probably evade laws protecting trademarks. Again not saying its right or wrong. Im just saying this might not be the big conspiracy you may think it is.

That's almost 8 ten thousandths...which is almost 8 times CRK tolerances ;)

well for the thumb lug tolerances of a CRK its 2 tenths of a thousandth. which would be 4 times. And lets be fair here. CRK is known for the tightest tolerances of any knife company anywhere. Now if you were to compare these chinese makers to a Bear MGC they would look like CRK themselves.

You just keep the blinkers on and vote with your wallet.

I checked the wares of this bogus Kevin several weeks ago and sure enough fake XM's clearly stamped HINDERER & fake Sebs clearly marked CRK, just remembered all the Striders too, complete with fake Strider branding.

As for the unbranded fakes, they still have unlicensed features such as Ricks LBS.

You should check out the spamming threads of this OP if you doubt me.

If you are happy to buy fake knives and goods made alongside fake items and fund the counterfeit industry then continue on your way, I however will continue to object to it.

Ok, you really didnt address any of my questions or comment on any of my points. Honestly? I have no problem with your views. Im merely seeking a civilized discussion of why you feel the way you do. I asked a simple question of what makes you feel he works for a counterfeit ring. But when you disregard all the points and questions that I made and simply take a hard nose stance on your position without explaining yourself it seems more like soap boxing. I have a few copy knives. And mine dont have logos at all. And there are plenty of youtube videos of some of the chinese knives with the K. John logo on them and no hinderer or CRK logos. If you are looking at one fo these copies and it has the actual logo of the original company they are not K. John knives. They are probably wild boar or other brand they are trying to develop.

EDITED TO ADD: I viewed his other threads. I didnt see any links to for sale adds. And I didnt see any pictures of him at the factory assembling anything. He very well might work in the factory, i dont know. Im asking besides and over active imagination what real proof do you have that he in fact does? because as distasteful as it may be to copy anothers work some find it distasteful to accuse without cause.

I am not closing or moving this thread. However, I will go to the trouble of handing out warnings or infractions to posters who continue to disrupt the thread. You may report any violations but do not troll the thread. Discuss the topic. Do not speculate, do not accuse, do not discuss each other. Discuss this thread, not others.

I don't like the design at all. Looks like it will be very uncomfortable in my hand. "Kevin" needs to work on that. ;)

I'm with Jay on this one.

And I'm sure "Kevin" has the rights to use the Spyderhole...

Isn't there a company that produces clones under the name "Kevin John"? I'm guessing that's where this one came from.

Thats not even close to the Spyderco Ulize, except the spyder hole and a recurce. Its a liner lock, the ulize has the lock on the spine. Spyderco has g10 scales on both sides, the liner is the back side on the Kevin. The ulize has a large curve to the handle. I do not promote copycat knives, and would never buy one. But seriously lets not let ones dislike stop you from using reason, and ability to see what is reality.

I am curious, are American patents and copyrights international? I was under the impression they only protect our products on American soil. BTW I like the handle in the second knife, but not the blade. Looks like a benchmade to me thiugh
