this is going to sound weird....

I fell asleep with a knife in my pocket a few times, but never intentionally. There are plenty within reach though. I wouldnt want a knife that close to my ding dong, I wiggle too much at night hahaha

I like to hold a knife while I'm trying to fall asleep. I have a problem with falling asleep because my mind races and I can't shut my thoughts off. Holding a knife in my hand forces me to think about knives until I get sleepy enough to fall into sleep, at which time I put it on the bedside table. Another use for the Gayle Bradley.

Why would you sleep with a knife?

I have my Cold Steel SK-5 Gurkha Kukri wedged in the drawer of my nightstand. It's loose in the sheath, so I can draw it one-handed from anywhere on my bed. The Secure-Ex sheath has a Mini Maglite LED strapped to it, in case I want to go prowling about the house. I've also got a pipe wrench (-evil laugh-) behind my pillow, on the back of my bed. I can pull it out with one hand if I'm lying down. And an interesting invention of my own: The Punisher. No pictures, so I'll describe it. A short (2 foot) wooden pole as a haft, with a large (2-3 pound) rusty iron chain dangling from the tip, secured tightly. This is under my mattress, so I can flip it up and pull The Punisher out. I've also got a Kobun at the foot of my bed, and the keys to my gun cabinet handy. And a heavy iron pipe, 4 or 5 feet long, with the top part filled with concrete. It's hidden below my bed, but has a lanyard I can pull for easy access.
*EDIT* Forgot about the Ti-Lite and heavy flashlight I keep next to my pillow (I've got a wide bed).
I'm not paranoid. You're paranoid!

actually, 2 manual on me (usually 3, but one is off to get some new scales) + a A/O next to me.

I know, I'm a very sick person.

does anyone sleep with their knives? i know that every night, there is me, with athletic shorts, a kershaw blur, and nothing else. does anyone else keep one of their little metal friends with them at all times?

A Kershaw Blur in your shorts at night?
Trying for self-circumcision are you?

The closest knife to me when I sleep is on the dresser on the other side of the room, sitting with my keys and wallet.

I don't sleep with a knife on me. But I have a SE Delica 4 right near the bed, a Cold Steel Peacekeeper hidden near the Delica and loose in its sheath. Sometimes I'll replace the Delica with a Tasman Salt or a black CQC7.

When I cant sleep I grab my Para 2 or any other folder and flick it open and close. It makes me fall asleep.
Its like a man teddy bear.

Anyone do this?

I don't sleep with one on me but I usually have my EDC or Rajah II on my nightstand within arms reach. I have fallen asleep with knives still clipped to my jeans pocket though...thankfully I've never moved around enough to make them deploy.

I sleep with a couple of knives around me, and a Busse Battle Mistress under the pillow. No, you are not weird.

I sleep in my jeans. Delica 3 in right front pocket. I live alone, on a farm. If varmints bother the stock at night, i jump into my mocassins grab the 870 and out the door. All bases covered. Henry

i do it out at camp if im trying to stay awake, makes me think of knives and then i cant go to sleep, too excited lol

I wouldn't really consider sleeping with or near weapons to be weird. Sure it might not be exactly necessary in most cases, but the world is a very violent place. Looking back in history, it's been a fairly common practice (all the way back to cavemen) to feel the need to protect oneself while sleeping. It's just one of those primitive low level thought processes that most of us still have.

I sleep with a flashlight under the pillow, but no... no knives in bed with me. They are on a silver tray right next to the bed, though.

samurai sword next to the bed , machete , one knife under the bed one under the pillow . dont worry this is normal .

Not usually, but when I go to sleep, I have all of my knives bedside within easy reach. However, I've fallen asleep with my Buck Hartsook Ultralite still around my neck a few times. But that happened mostly because I either forgot about it since its so lightweight or because I didn't plan on sleeping but then got really tired.

There's some funny posts here ahaha :)

Peace Out.

yeah, haha, sometimes when I'm not tired enough to sleep but not awake enough to want to stay awake, I'll open and close my knives for awhile and then put them away.

Its like reading a book, lol

I also do this during the day if I'm bored.

Peace Out.
