this is going to sound weird....

does anyone sleep with their knives? i know that every night, there is me, with athletic shorts, a kershaw blur, and nothing else. does anyone else keep one of their little metal friends with them at all times?
I would but I don't have any place to clip it, shorts you say, no need for them here :p

usually, there's a cs rajah II on the bedside table less than 1 foot from me, a recon tanto on the floor and a coupla flashlights cause I can't see in the frickin' dark! Nothing directly on me though because #1 - the rajah weighs a tonne and would pull my boxers off and #2 - i'd hate to act out that dream where I kill the t-rex with my katana and wake up to find out my pillow has been stabbed to death. :(

In my nightstand are all but 2 of the knives i own, 32 in the drawers, 1 (CRKT STIFF KISS) on top, and a Kershaw Chive in my waistband (sometimes).

No, I don't have any need to sleep with knife on me. A loaded Glock with night sights and a Surefire are not far away, though.

I place the next days EDC on the nightstand next to me ... but if I am awoken in the middle of the night and needed to protect my family, I would be reaching for my Sig with Crimson Trace not a knife.

I have a Kabar USMC knife between my matress and box. I also have a kabar TDI along with a flash light on the side rail of my bed.

Lately it's been my Izula II, ZT 0350 and several flashlights on my beside table and a Cold Steel Escrima stick leaning by my bed head. In the drawer of the side table I have my Caly3, Dragonfly 1, 2 and G10.
The rest of my knives, Cold Steel Brooklyn Crusher, Cold Steel kukri and ESEE Lite Machete are in my closet within easy reach.

I used to keep a knife (usually the one I carried the day before) on my nightstand, but then I woke up one morning with a "phantom" cut on the tip of my thumb that I don't ever remember getting. My girlfriend thinks I was playing with my knife while sleeping. To keep her happy (and just in case), my collection now lives in its drawer, with a Leatherman Blast in my go-bag just in case.

used to sleep with a 44 special revolver but now a millie or an endura. one needs to really trust his sub-conscious.--dennis
