Not only do I sleep with my knife near by, I also have a Glock 19 and a surefire light well within reach.....
 
I sleep butt naked with an impressively sized man-club that varies in size depending on my mood.

If your attacker remains in the room after such a display of power, you know your dealing with a pro.

But if that alone doesn't send them off in terror, the 4 Sevens AA2 and Rajah II hidden on the nightstand, ATC-VTAC hidden next to the bed, Ka-Bar TDI hanging behind the bed post, or the custom Mossberg 590A (complete with bayonet when I'm feeling really frisky) hidden behind the nightstand should do the trick. :D
 
Yup, I do. I have my knife clipped to my PJ pants. I have done this for years.
 
Night table next to the bed is as close as the knives get.

Honestly - if I had intruder or burglar problems while sleeping, I'd reach for the hidden hand cannon before I reach for the blade.

Two dogs and an alarm system will give me enough warning to be ready.

Hard to say.

The USP clearly has better build quality, but at a higher price. Both are very accurate out of the box. The Glock is special to me because it was my first, and it is my work horse. I've put 1000's of rounds through it with no hiccups.
 
Only when I fall asleep on the couch when watching TV, otherwise my EDC lives on my dresser or the bookshelf.

I have a scar on my right thigh that reminds me to empty my pockets before going to sleep (and that cheap Chinese folders have no retention).
