This is MY knife

My original post here was of a whole group of knives, but the more I thought about it I realized that there's only one of them that really qualifies as "my" knife and that's the Benchmade Pinnacle I've carried since sometime in the 90'seither as an EDC or as a work knife around the farm. I recently stopped carrying it in order to try out some new Spyderco sprints with exotic steels, but it's still my knife because it's seen so much use.

Honorable mention goes to my first Beretta Loveless because after a five year dirt nap it decided to resurface this spring when I was tilling.

Here's my G-10 Endura 4 from Jan '08 when they first became available. Carried ever since.

I've also EDCed this for years now since I got it. The bark is known for it's fire starting properties. I just wish they could figure out a way to grow these with pocket clips for easier carry. :D

This is an old picture, it got quite a few scars, still love it

My dad gave me this when I was 4 and a half.

It is mine 52 and a half years later rounded tips and all. :D.

Lovin' the scratches and wear photos! This Queen Mountain Man in D2 was my EDC for a couple-three years (and it shows); the last few weeks I've been carrying my SideKick prototype almost exclusively. Still haven't had to sharpen it.

These two are mine. The mini came first with the full size not far behind.

This one is perhaps more in the spirit of the original post. My grandfather carried this and when he died in 1977 my dad started carrying it. I started carrying it when he went in the veteran's home in 2008 and I put it in the safe when he died in 2010.

Very cool story and nice knife:thumbup: Sorry for your loss.

James, I was wondering, since the Queen Mountain Man is in such nice condition, if your could buff it out with some sort of wheel & polishing compound? Just curious. Is that Prototype your make? That's a perfect EDC size fixed blade. Very nice!

 Don't ya just love it when a maker carries one of his own.

I just do not see that very often these days (or as much as I used to.)

Some of them still do. Not many, though. This week's booty. Not a bad one in the bunch.

A) I suppose one could buff it out, but that would change the orignal satin finish, blur the original etch on the blade, and take out all the "character marks". I have a replacement shield for the one that fell out, just never got around to gluing it in. It's a working knife, not a safe-queen, and I don't mind it looking beat up.
B) Yup! Thanks for your kind words. :)

The only way to know if my knives are any dang good is to use them. A lot. I can already tell you this proto wants to be thinned out a little more; I will keep thinning the blade and edge until it starts to fail. I have some ideas for making the sheath a little sleeker and more secure, as well. It's all part of the learning process and fun :)

This was a good idea for a thread, I haven't seen one like this since I've been around.

I know, some of you carry a different knife every day. But some of us have been walking around with the same old thing for so long it's become a part of us. Here's mine. Post yours.

Sweet! thats the US made Gerber Freeman, i wanted so bad to pull the trigger on one a few years back, being thrifty i opted for the taiwan regular freeman (which is still a really good gerber) but it doesnt look as cool as this one
excellent
regards
gene

PS thats a big and quite heavy knife for EDC, ya wearing it in the sheath or pocket, i actually pocket carried mine for better part of the first year i had it, needed suspenders:D

In the sheath, on my belt, Gene. You're right. It's a heavy sucker.:D:thumbup:

Either of these has been with me every day for several yaers now. Both are a little worse for wear since the picture.
