If you all can say with a clear conscious that I am totally wrong , than I will shut up.
You are VERY wrong. Look at your reputation, it's RED, it was green yesterday. It's red because of this mission you're on. It's red because not many people agree with you, if any, but disagree with you.
I know some people don't care for some of the things Cliff says, but I find a lot of his comments interesting. Sure a lot of his tests go far beyond what many of us would do with a knife, but he does make a lot of good points.
So can you post some things Cliff has said that are false?
Here is Cliff pointing out how the Sebenza is inferior in certain aspects:
"It is inferior in many regards, compared to the M2 AFCK for example, it has lower ergonomics and handle security, significantly less edge retention and blade toughness and much lower lock security. Benchmade however tends to run their edges a bit thick so you would likely have to reprofile the AFCK in order to match the NIB cutting ability of the Sebenza. Many Spyderco's would easily match or exceed the cutting ability of the Sebenza NIB and easily outperform it in the other aspects listed, at a fraction of the price.
-Cliff"
He often posts these comments when people are wondering if they should get a Sebenza, or if a Manix or a Benchmade is good enough. He is simply pointing out that the Sebenza isn't really going to perform any better than a cheaper knife. Sure it has benefits as compared to a Manix, Benchmade, etc, but in the real world these benefits aren't that big of a deal to most people. So you can take it apart and clean it? I never took apart my BM710 and I carried it for 4 years with no problems. I just rinsed it out, dried it, lubed it, good as new. The Sebenza is finished nicer, but after taking it out a couple times my keys scratched the hell out of the handle, where my BM710's handle looks the same as when I first got it, after 4 years + of daily carry with my keys.
Cliff is simply pointing out performance issues. When it comes to the finish, the way the knife looks, that's all subjective. You may think the Sebenza is beautiful, other people call it a grey ****.
I like my Sebenza but I rarely carry it because my other knives blow it away as far as performance for what I like to do. I think it's well built, finished beautifully, a nice simple design, etc, but so what? There are many custom knives for the same price that are finished just as well or better, but they may not perform as well as a $100 knife.
It's fine if the Sebenza is your favorite knife and you feel it has no equal, but that doesn't give you the right to go out and attack other people who don't share the same opinion.
When people ask "Why Sebenza" everyone should be welcome to post their thoughts. You, Cliff, etc.
