This is what Gallant, Alabama looks like today

76 and sunny here.......:D

A little north of you we are 70 and sunny. Warm in the sun. If you sit in the shade the breeze will chill you a little bit. But another great day.

I love the seasons. That's why I live in a state that skips all the shitty ones.

This is my from yard 10 am yesterday. Got 1.5" before it quit.

Come spend a week in calgary during the winter and After that almost anywhere south will be wonderful

quit yer bitchin I got snow piled up past my windows so I can't see out my house. 20 is a hot day around here this time of year. though i have had enough of the cold and snow and would rather be in Ecuador getting cheap dental.

Sweet home Alabama y'all.
When I lived there it snowed or froze once or twice a year, that's it.
Must be global warming...

Jeff are you wearing jeans in cold wet weather? Sham on you, you should know better than that.

And for anybody out there whining about the cold go buy a Snuggie and buck it up.

Yeah but that's all worth it. You do have the best knife laws in all the country ,or should I say lack there of.

Is that milimeters?

No. I wish it was. I have seen up to 30" from this storm. We ended up with 15" in our yard. But 12 miles north was 24" and 15 miles east of that was 30". Makes it hard to get around in a 2wd truck. I waited til traffic had been on the roads and didn't have any issues making the 12 mile trip to work the last couple days.

I was really wanting to participate in that snowshoe contest it might come in handy. The last time northwest arkansas got this much snow was 1918.

-11 here this morning, I am soooooo ready for some warm weather... like getting up to the 30s :)

It's a white out over here in Tuscaloosa too. There was probably close to 500 kids on the quad playing in the snow. It was a good night.

I was in Tuscaloosa night before last. It was not fun driving an eighty thousand pound rig amidst all the people that don't know how to drive in that stuff.

Ha! You should be in Connecticut. There was No temperature this morning.. the thermometer read 0.

Quityerbitchin!!!

Yesterday was a huge day.Luckily for me 2 friends volunteered to go out and help me shovel.I was sure glad to have them along. When we finally broke trail into the cabin there was so much snow on the roof that the door wouldnt open.I keep a ladder inside. How to get on the roof? I tried to use a piece of wire to flip the lock on a window while the others took a rope and sawed off a corner.Once the corner fell off I was able to dig myself a perch on the edge of the roof.I think there was between 8-9 feet of snow on all buildings.

Once some snow was off a fire was lit and the soup pail put on to simmer.
I can usually do a little shovelling and get the roof to slide. We had to shovel it all the -10c temp kept the snow solid.
The cabin was built steep to shed snow its 16 feet tall from floor to roof tip
The woodshed cabin and outhouse where all cleaned off

After Tony's post, I just realized how much smarter I am than all those idiots that live way north of me. Thanks for the post, Tony. I will continue to bitch but do it knowing I'm a lot wiser than a lot of folks :D

it's pushing 40 and sunny here today - snow is sliding off the roof on the S side of the house.

I like the cold. Seems like I can always get warmer, but I can't always cool down. Don't get me wrong, I like warmer weather, but I hate the summers here in East Tenn, 100% humidy, 105% temp, its just miserable.

But, I hope to be smaller when it comes around this year, so, maybe that will make a difference.

Lookin' good out there Jeff, nice pack and pics.

Moose

ditto...and i can actually play with fire in the backyard without the neighbors thinking i'm crazy. i've been known to play with fire even when it's 90 outside. now they just assume i forgot to pay my heating bill :D
