You know y'all are killing me with all these dek 2 pictures!!!!!
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
I'm a 1911 guy too!! Whatcha got there??
That is awesome!I have a stainless loaded too, I did some wolf springs and a scalloped mainspring housing. It is an amazing shooter! I don't have an account where I can post pictures right now but if I upgrade I will post some pictures for sure! I also picked up a STI Duty 1 commander size. That gun took about 2-250 rounds to break in but is an extremely accurate and reliable gun now. Absolutely love them!!
Please say your Boot Dagger isn’t attached to a baited hook !?!

My “peck marks” from trying to master the Sparrow front flip methods….have finally stopped bleeding.
If you know, you know....
Anyway, I am not sure if there is a thread for all the DEKs to congregate so rather than spread thoughts around many other threads, I'll just start one for all three DEKs.
I was away on a long camping trip and came home yesterday to a couple of shiny new knives - a DEK2 and a DEK3. Interestingly, despite all three of the DEKs having the same handle, they all feel dramatically different in hand. Such a cool freaking design concept to have multiple similar knives but have them all still be significantly different.
The DEK2 is a beefcake, a big boy with attitude. That extra thickness in the steel makes the handle feel excellent! I took a gamble on having the swedge added but I regret it not, it makes that tanto-like blade (a style that I am not usually a fan of) very visually appealing. Aesthetic aside, I feel like I could pry open a bunker with this thing - it's seriously stout.
The DEK3 is on a whole different level of CPK awesomeness. When I get a CPK, I usually have the impression that I can do insane things like flatten the globe, make dinosaurs extinct, usher in a new ice age - just from the awesome power of a beautifully overbuilt blade. This is my first experience with CPK's ability towards creating finesse. This knife feels feather light (compared to its siblings) is ground super thin, and has a super sexy profile - this is a damned fine cutter. I think those that ordered theirs in Magnacut are not going to regret it in the least.
Hard to say what my favorite is between the three so I'll have to give the DEK2 and DEK3 some good ol' fashioned use. Regardless, the DEKs are a very fine line of knives and everyone should try and treat themselves to at least one variation, if not all of them.
Well done Lorien, well done CPK - these things rule!

the more i hold and handle the 2 and 3, the more i appreciate that they're still variations on the perfection of the 1. Especially when the 1 is swedged.
I do still feel that the DEK1 encompasses all the attributes one would want in a general all-purpose EDC blade.

Awesome DEKs !!!!!!!I saw this thread get bumped recently with a couple of new posts. That reminded me that I have not done an updated collection photo since I picked one up at the Outlaw Cut gathering last October.
While I am content with owning only one on most CPK models, DEK’s (and EDC’s) have become sort of an addiction for me.
Here is my current DEK family photo.

Before I worked on this post, I went back to Page 1 of this thread to rereadPàdruig ’s excellent opening post about the differences and attributes of each variation between the DEK 1, 2, & 3. I agree with all of his observations and visceral reaction to each in hand.
It is still amazing to me howLorien and
Nathan the Machinist took the same masterpiece handle scale design and attached it to different blade shapes and steel thicknesses to create three unique identities in a knife.
Fast forward back to present day, there are a lot of folks on the hunt for DEK 2’s & 3’s because they are scarce relative to demand and not likely to be made again according to Nathan. I won’t discourage those searches, but I firmly believe that the DEK 1 is the Goldilocks choice of the three. If my entire DEK collection was gone tomorrow in a fire or burglary, I would get a DEK 1 in D3V with a swedge and not feel lacking in any way.
I attached a couple of quotes below from the first pages of this thread that share that opinion. There are many more if you care to look further into this.
There is much rich history and experienced comments in this thread. I thank all of you for your input.
