This should ruffle some feathers

After this Post Im beginning to suspect Bowdriller is an agent for Lynn tompson I mean 20 people have ordered Bushmans already (or is that bushmen) next he is going to challenge us all to try the Bird and Trout. :)

Seriously after the last post about them I dug mine out, I have the old leather sheath. I hate this kind of sheath when i finish putting together a good kit for the handle i may just make a leather hanger for it. I think i may make a "Scout Style" small of the back rig for it.

If Bowdriller is not an agent for Lynn Thompson, he should be. Now I'm gonna have to order one so I can be in the "in crowd". I am an amateur at modifying knives (mostly camp machetes), but the Bushman gives me another cheap canvass on which to hone my skills. I all else fails, I can at least make a spear with it.

I see everyone in this community has some pretty sweet blades and I own a knife over $100 but for my liking in an outdoors situation give me a Cold Steel Bushman anytime and I will be content. Strength, sharpness, dependability, its all there. Yes, maybe not as fancy or high quality as hierloom quality pieces but who needs that when it comes down to doing the job? Lots of use goes into making bowdrills (for friction fires) and other things of the such. It chops, slices, and cuts superbly for its size, plus it holds and edge reasonably well but what I like is how easily it resharpens. I have beaten my Bushman to death and it is still going very strong. Recently I just went through an entire 40 year old Mockernut Hickory tree, splitting it with a Bushman and some pounding sticks. I went through several pounders, and at one point was actually worried about the abuse I was inflicting on the knife but now I know how tough it is ; it holds its own. I have owned three: lost one, gave one away, still got one. For $25.... forget about it!!!!!!! A thirty two pound flathead catfish is not easy to catch, but I did.

DUDE.

Welcome to the Wilderness forum where Busse, Sebenza and Strider are all just the names associated with knives that cost too much.

Now if you said Mora, Siegle or Wetterling well, thems fightin werds.

Thats funny because we are getting back into exclusivity again.:D Actually Ive come to the conclusion that I couldnt care less if I get a Mora knife or not. I have more than enough cutting tools to cover any concievable application, from one extreme to the other. I was trying to figure out what niche a Mora would fill for me, when I realised that I couldnt find one, thus, didnt need one. Maybe one day if I lose, break or give something away.

I guess I'm in the wrong place, I like Busse's just fine.

I thought this was the place were we just didn't get into all that and accepted everyone whether they carried a Mora or a HeavyHeart.

The more the merrier!

Not trying to stir things up, but when I think survival, I think frugality. I can buy a lotta canned goods and savings bonds for the price of a Busse :D I'd like to get my hands on one but it's just not a priority to me.

Just my $.02

Couldn't have said it better, Sure it would be cool, But man. I can Buy 25-30 Mora 2000 for the price of a FBM, I know what i'd be doin :D

I am curious to see what all this fuss over infi is all about, but I dont think im 300$ or so curious.

Yes, I think that most of us accept anyones knife or kit choices, as theirs, and that they have a right to their own decisions. More than once here I thought I knew it all only to be humbled by my own ignorance. If a guy can afford a half dozen Busse knives without blinking, cool for him. I sure cant though. Im saving up for more post secondary education and a dinky little item once in a while, like a Kershaw Storm from Walmart, brings me joy. I always look for the cheapest way to build up my outdoor and or survival materials.:D Peace brothers.;)

OK I'm sold. I just ordered 2 mini's and a regular bushman. Can't wait to get them. You guys should work for Cold Steel.

hey normark, i was asking, if you made any sheaths with a little firesteel loop on it. i thought you said you didnt? at any rate, that sheath is outstanding, and was wondering if you had any of those for moras, with a firesteel loop on it.

Yeah, bladematrix is a place to find good deals. Now I'm waiting for the release of the bowie bushman and barong machetes so I can order them together.

Honestly I have one of the above a Siegle my dad gave to me sometime ago...I think the best knife you can have is the one on you when you need it.

As to Busse family products, if you got the money to run around in the woods with a 400 plus dollar knife more power to you. INFI = hype and Lynn Thompson got nothin on Busse knives for that.
