Reading the news this morning I see where a 36yr. old retired air force vet and his two sons ages 8 and 10 died while on a hike I'm missouri. Seems they went out in 60 degree wheather with only light jackets and no gear other than a cell phone an a flashlight that where both out of batteries. Got lost and froze to death. Very sad. Let it be a leason to us all about being ill equipped. Very sad
Wow, that is sad. My wife and I are gonna do a little hiking this weekend in Missouri. Supposed to be in the 50,s, but I'll definitely be prepared.

Who made the Kydex sheath with the leather dangler? I saw some pics of it not too long ago now I can't find them

so I have not gotten the flu shot in over 5 years, I haven't been sick since.... seems like the flu shot did the opposite to me. all this talk about the flu being an out break on the news and saying "get the shot, get the shot, you neeeeed the shot...." I think I am gonna roll the dice on this and not get the shot.

Well looks like NY will probably be passing a stricter version of the "assault rifle" ban. Love living in such a liberal state :barf: maybe I can convince the little lady to move to a more reasonable state at some point. Sigh........ what's this country coming to. I'm saddened.

I didn't get mine either. I never have before, ive never been one to get sick much. I always thought the shot was just for the really old or the really young?

South Cakalak always has room for another reformed yankee!

The geese are back.
noisy poopers.

I'd like to eat them, but they dine on pesticide-soaked lawns... Anybody know anything about that? How risky is it?

Does anyone here have the Lite Machete? Is it worth the cost over a tramontina? "fit and finish" aside...

Probably not very risky. My nephew is an avid goose hunter. He stored his decoys with me while he was changing houses and had well over 100 ! He eats the meat all the time, feeds it to the kids -- no ill effects.

Now at my place...I have a pond in my front yard. Geese are always trying to nest. Never want them to have kids at your place, because the youngsters get imprinted that your home is their home. I also have a Border Collie, so having them stay is never an issue... :D
I have to laugh when I see trainers selling "specially-trained" Borders to golf courses and airports to chase the geese at $5000 a pop. Chasing geese to a Border is second only to breathing. "Specially-trained" indeed.

I dont vaccinate my children and we never got sick, until this year when my son started school. Someone has been sick in my fzm since september. I havnt had the flu since grade school and ive got it twice in the last 4 months. The FDA is a joke.

"Well, you know it's all YOUR fault, you sicko GUN-person, you!"

That was pretty much the level of discussion at the local diner a couple of Sundays after Sandy Hook.

CT is talking AR ban (AKs have been illegal for years -- ARs were exempt from that ban because most of them are made here and it comes down to economics -- how ironic is that?) and hi-cap magazine buy-backs by the State.

Meanwhile, the largest gun dealer in the State just had a huge sale on S&W M&P ARs! :D Tell me the Press didn't have a field day with THAT one!

Such asinine logic haha. Yeah looks like we are going to be limited to 7 rounds from our already low 10, it mystifies me that they think 10 rounds is a high capacity mag. Also looks like we are going to need background checks to buy ammo. Oh and we wont be able to sell/transfer any AR's.

This is also cool for anyone interested.

Very sad, but an Air Force vet should know better.

Has anyone been over on the Kershaw/ZT page lately? Lots of cool new knives being posted up. I believe I will be putting the ZT0566 on my must have list.

That one and the ZT0770 are both grabbing my attention. Of course, there's just something about the Hinderer design that I love. I've got to get myself one of "his" ZTs very soon.

looks a lot like my JYD-II, which is also USA-made and only moderately priced.

I've been following those new releases too. The 0566 looks awesome, even has an elmax blade with an MSRP well below $200 but a lot of hardcore 0560 guys are already complaining that it has a SS scale/lock instead of titanium, oh heavens I hope it can open boxes without collapsing on your hands

Yes, you are very correct! especially when a 99 cent bic lighter would of saved all of there lives! Murph makes fun of me for sometimes being ill equipped. But after reading this I am turning over a new leaf.
