Thought this was interesting...

His opinions are his and though I disagree I can accept them.

He perfers the RAT-7 fine, even the price thing. It is cheaper, no doubt.

But get your info right if your persenting it to a mass market. That's his obligation to his audience and I've seen him fail too many times in that respect to trust his info.

I think what he's doing is cool but do it right if your going to do it.

And the video where he dismantles and "lightens" a RAT-1 folder was laughable. But thats just my opinion.

He does have an insanely massive fan base though so he's doing something right.

thats really odd of him considering his video on his esee rc3 seemed to praise the company, and quality of the knife.

hmmmm.......

So we all watch his vids, and all had the same reaction when he made that stupid and let's face rather useless comment in the end ...
Well his got his followers I guess we are more of Jeff's and Mike's :)

+1:thumbup: but i think he got his fan base from the knife and gun reviews and now he has all sorts of hour long videos and information that is wrong...

and the fact that he continually says hes a knife guy...

I mean what really got me was the fact that hype is bad, so he stays with the mediocre RAT7 just to not buy into the "hype"...WFT:barf::barf:

They "hype" for ESEE is cause of all the people who buy them and give them such amazing reviews that everyone has to see what its all about...i just cant see how thats bad...and now you will have a buck of people going off and getting a crappy RAT7 instead of a quality ESEE blade...shame:thumbdn::thumbdn:

You guys need to calm down. You're criticizing him for calling it RAT? Pretty much 85% of everyone on the ESEE boards still say RAT. I think (could be wrong) I've even seen Jeff use RAT after the name change. Lighten up and give him a break...I'm sick of everyone getting their panties in a bunch when a nutnfancy video is posted or mentioned. Ok so he got some facts wrong about RAT knives and pricing. I guess he's not allowed to make mistakes. I'm not saying I'm a fan of nutnfancy nor am I saying that I'm not a fan. I watch his videos because they're interesting and entertaining. He also puts out the highest quality knife/gun related videos on youtube (not contest in my opinion). On the other hand, he is very opinionated and seems to think very highly of himself. All I'm saying is give the guy a break. You can't deny he loves what he does so just let him do it. If he makes a mistake just think about the last time you made a mistake. It's not a big deal.

Lastly, if you hate him so much, don't watch the friggen video.

Im not all upset at it...he didnt get the name wrong...he said he doesnt like ESEE cause its "over priced" and because of the "hype"

Why do i have a problem with these things? well..

Hes giving out information that affects the buying decisions of alot of people, and he clearly hasnt done any bit of research to back it up...thats my problem with it...

well ans7812 it isnt that we have this unwarranted vitriol hatred of nutnfancy, the one thing that annoys me is that for the longest time he says "4 ounces for a carry knife" over and over, and completly hates a design if it is too heavy, then he puts out 2 videos with high regard for outrageously sized cold steel knives, now why would he have such a dramatic turn around? who knows. but i think it is odd. sponsorship perhaps? who knows.

Many people will buy a lesser knife because of being mis-informed by him, thats what makes me mad.

I agree, it is very odd that he did that. But like I said, it's just a video (that I personally watch for entertainment). No one said he was the man to turn to for anything knife related so I don't understand why everyone EXPECTS him to give 100% correct information. I know that you're thinking "well he always claims he's a knife expert etc." but the fact of the matter is that it's youtube. How many times do you see a video of some jackass who claims to know about firearms and then proceeds to handle his weapon in the most unsafe, unprofessional way. You've got to take it with a grain of salt (nutnfancy's videos).

What baffles me is that everyone's responses so far indicate that they EXPECT him to provide 100% accurate information. Sure, the result might be that people buy bad tools and gear. I'll say what I said before in response to that: how many crappy, misinformed videos are put on youtube every day? But no one seems to be complaining about those people.....It just doesn't make sense to me. So the guy (nutnfancy) has a huge ego. Get over it, watch the video for entertainment or don't watch it at all. And if you feel the need to criticize him because "many people will buy a lesser knife because of being mis-informed by him" then I suggest you find every single video that has incorrect info and criticize them too.

Don't make claims and then not back them up. Thats not making mistakes that is preaching one thing and doing another, taking unknowing people's trust and abusing it.

So miscalculating an inch of blade length in the name isn't a big deal?... Just a minor mistake?...

People going into shops asking for the ESEE-7 doesn't matter?...

Yes, people make mistakes but most don't have thousands of followers that depend on the information they put out.

If your going to do it, do a decent job of it. Misquotes and miscalculations make a big difference.

Read everything I've posted before and again ask yourself "Why am I expecting nutnfancy to provide the best information in the first place?"

Instead of criticizing him on this forum, why not leave a comment on his youtube page describing his error and a few reasons why you disagree? If I had an ESEE-6, (which I will soon) I would offer to send it to him for a review.

I am not trying to defend him, I think that he doesn't like people disagreeing with him and thats why he is constantly bashing "the forums." But he does put out the highest quality knife videos on youtube. I wish he had a video out for every knife I wanted to buy. It would help me make my decision to be able to see it in hand and hear about all the features.

Don't let one guy get u to upset, your right in that respect.

Do they all thave THOUSANDS of viewers?

When you get to the level he's at there are higher expectations.

Bashing a knife he didn't use, no thanks not the guy I would send my knife to.
