Thoughts about nutnfancy and cutlerly lover

I like nutnfancy a little more because he talks more you get to know the knife alittle better.

He sometimes has a lot of info - more than others since he buys about 5 of each knife that he whips out to tell you how cool the other colors are. He's a character but I enjoy his reviews.

Some of our own forum members put out the coolest videos too. I trust them the most of all. Look for the links at the bottom of posts. I've found some very cool video channels here from our bros.

cutlerylover and nutnfancy haven't done knife reviews in months. I'm not looking to purchase anything I just want to watch some good knife porn.

I prefer cutlerylover over Nutnfancy.

Nutnfancy is a 'tactical' guy who has experience in the military/LE. He talks about self defense using blades and guns. I'm not into defense. A knife is a cutting tool, not a weapon.

Cutlerylover is a civilian, so I can relate to his philosophies/experiences better than nutnfancy's. All of Jeff's videos are entertaining (okay most of them), including his outdoor/gardening/even cooking ones.

so military/LE-> nutnfancy
civilian/every day normal guy-> cutlerylover

both give great reviews, but the word 'tactical' just slightly pisses me off.

BTW, to my subscribers... I've deleted a lot of vids. Some because the items shown... for example, a brass "paper weight" used to open a beer bottle, let's just say it's not good to advertise. Needless to say I got rid of the other paperweights as well. I'm also limiting my videos that are focused on one knife to include only knives I currently own. I'm making a pics and vid inventory of my at the moment collection at http://sinza.forumotion.com/blade-g...llection-always-being-updated-t2247.htm#37858 If I sell a knife, the vid gets shitcanned. I also scored a cheap mini tripod so my vids should be much more tolerable.

New EDC update due tomorrow.

CM, Love the Logo on the header of that site - should be featured in the Tacticlol thread. What kind of place is it?? Looks kinda strange. They let you scrapbook your knives or videos or what? Sorry for being nosy :rolleyes:

It's a keepin it real forum made up of mostly teens to twenties who love weapons of all kinds. Most of the sight is centered around building weapons and they have a cult following for wrist blades like on Assassin's Creed. Don't let the age fool you, these kids are doing things I only dreamed of at that age.

BTW, Reese Weiland is a semi-moderator.

That explains. I'm glad we're cultivating some hotbeds of future knifemakers and nuts.

After watching several Nutnfancy's reviews I began to suspect the classic narcissistic personality with this man, Not to mention a very thin skin with any kind of criticism.

Actually that's his sister (supposedly) whol polices the comments and squawks at critics. I had a squabble with her about the 890 Torrent and it ended up with her apologizing. People love him and some hate him. I like his stuff a lot but I don't buy it all. :)

I love "use" videos better than tabletops. I really like your channel. :thumbup:

I stumbled upon blackforestghost1 somehow, he has really concise, detail oriented tests that aren't just talking but almost full destruction tests. Really, really high quality reviews.

I like both reviewers in question. I tried to make a few knife reviews on video, and I kept fumbling the words. My camera sucks. I couldn't get the lighting right. YouTube wouldn't let me upload. Editing took a long time. What looked great on my computer screen looked grainy on YouTube. So I can respect the amount of time and preparation that goes into a video review. Heck, I don't do that many typed reviews any more (lack of funds).

I've traded with both nutnfancy and cutlerylover, and I met nutnfancy in person. He's every bit as obnoxious in real life as he is in his videos, and didn't seem to want to hear anyone's opinion. As well-produced and thorough as his videos are, meeting him in real life just ruined it for me.

All said, I'll put on cutlerylover or Noss for some background noise while I modify knives; nutnfancy is a last-resort of information on a knife I'm planning on buying.

(Yes, there are some great YouTubers from right here on BladeForums, but the two that were asked about are nutnfancy and cutlerylover, so I tried to contain my post to them.)

i think they both do the knife community a great service. i dont know about you guys but when im looking to buy a new knife i generally research youtube and the internet to see what others experiences are with the blades. I really appreciate the time they both spend bringing us useful information on different tools. They have both invested a ton of time and money into their hobbies and are nice enough to give us their views on different blades and leave us to make our own decision.

Doing a video review well, one that conveys good visual information and verbal content in a concise and clear manner is a JOB! Kudos and thanks to all who make the effort to share and inform; it ain't easy to do well and does take a lot of time and effort. And it's great to be able to do a little research on knives, flashlights, guns, whatever... through the posts and videos of those who are trying to share.

Nuttinfancy is better in my opinion. I like that he actually tests them out and gives honest reviews. I'm a camper and outdoor guy myself and find his videos way better. But yeah he does talk too much but so does cuttlerylover.

I enjoy watching them both. Nutnfancy goes really in depth with all of his reviews which we all know makes for a 30min video easy. Although Jeff's are quite long as well i feel a more personal level with his and prefer his. As a poor college kid When I think about getting a new knife i always look for a review by either of them so that way i know what im getting. Which is why i ordered the other day a sog ageis in digital camo, nutnfancy has a video on it.

I am familiar with both Nutnfancy and Cutlery videos. OK, but too looooong.

Now, I am a fan of Virtuovice's videos.

He shows hands on use and his vids are short and sweet:thumbup:

i agree. he is the best and a very sincere person that is truly a knife enthusiast. the other two guys are in it for the money they can get from youtube. btw: try and disagree with nutnfancy....you will be blocked!!!!
