Thoughts and Opinions on The Tribal Lock?

If they made a junior I would certainly buy another, but that being said I have always considered the Tribal Lock to be the “smallest big knife” that I regularly carry. This would be in jeans rather than dress pants and is probably due to the thinness. Contrast it with say a Buck 112 and the Tribal is much easier on the pocket. A junior Tribal the size of the Mini Copperlock below would be nice.

Nice "family" shot there! I agree it easy to carry but something a bit smaller would be nice and wouldn't raise eyebrows in the lunch room. Really, this is just nitpicking on my part since I carry the TL in a belt sheath and the sowbelly in the pocket.

Coming late to this pattern. The Tony Bose Commemorative Tribal Lock got me started and this one just in the other day. Very nice fit and finish, total lock up on opening with no movement - up, down, sideways, whatever. The fluted bolsters are a nice touch.

I’ve been wanting to try a tribal lock myself. At first I didn’t care for the look, but it keeps growing on me the more I look. It seems the SS is much more prevalent. I don’t know I’ve ever seen a CV.

Thanks for sharing. I just noticed, that whiskey is bareheaded. I don’t know that I’ve noticed that they come both ways. Hmm not sure which I like better.
There may be other bareheads, but if there are, I can't think of them at the moment.

P.S. Get both :p

I never updated in this thread, since my first couple of Tribal Locks I've picked up a couple more. Still my favorite "larger" pocket knife. The Whiskey gets carried and used the most out of the bunch, patina has evened out to a more consistent gray. Group pic from late last year.

The tribal lock I purchased 6 months ago in tru sharp was the best I have bought from Case. Not perfect, but I was impressed with the fact that there were no grind marks on the polished tang anywhere. It’s back spring is flush open and closed and locks up perfectly. It has a centered blade and no gaps anywhere. The flaw is in the dyeing of the vintage USA flag bone. The shield side is fading faster than the pile side. It’s a user anyway and it just looks more antique/vintage that way. It has my vote for my best of the year traditional for 2022. The 2017 Navy with red shield is also a barehead. There is one on page two (and three) of this thread.
