  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Thoughts on a Suga variant

Ya I like the original pommel myself, it would give a little more to hook onto for the draw. The way I wear my concealed carry knives, it wouldn't be pokey, so length is my main concern. But now that I'm thinking about it, how would you feel about a ring on the end? Like a "Sugarambit" kinda deal. Plus circles are definitely not pokey

I think I'd rather have it flare a little at the bottom.

This Padam Suga Knife is from about a year ago. If it had a downward curving handle and jimping on the spine it would be pretty close to what people are discussing now in this thread. Those seem like relatively easy changes for the HI kamis to implement, especially the kamis who are already used to making the Padam Suga model.

On the question of sharpened swedges and legal issues: It shouldn't be hard to sharpen a swedge with a file, or to take the edge off a sharpened swedge. Given the multitude of laws against double-edged blades, it might make more sense to ship with an unsharpened swedge and let customers who want it sharp make it so with a file.
