Thoughts on CRK Elforyn

I just scored a small Sebenza 31 with the Elforyn ivory Micarta inlays on the recent dlt drop. Was super excited to get this configuration, and I have to say I'm quite disappointed now that I have it in hand. I'm half tempted to return it, and wonder if anyone else has had similar experience with this inlay material on this or any other knives? It seems to completely lack any of the grain structure that was what I thought set this material apart from other synthetic ivories. The only "grain" I can see is some scuffing from what looks like a poorly finished surface. The scuffing is particularly bad on the lock side. Normally I'd consider sending to CRK to fix, but with this material being a dealer exclusive limited release I'm not sure how that would work out. Curious what y'all think?
 
Some additional context, the box was filthy and the action is super gritty. The drop was this week but the card says DOB back in February. There's a lot that's weird about this one. I hate to send it back cause I'm sure I'll never get a chance at another of these, but man this is the first time I've ever had a bad experience with CRK :(

From my personal experience with buying unnecessary things, if there is something that really bugs you about it in the honeymoon phase, then it is always going to nag at you, so I would probably return it.
 
You rock Jordan, appreciate the reply! I'm guessing these are all gone and an exchange is out of the realm of possibility? Really was so excited for this config so I hate to give it up.

Unfortunately I don't have any more on hand - sorry - they went quick.

He does that and it turns to pee yellow he's stuck with it. Personally I think it looks fine but if you really don't like it I see a pretty smooth surface for a personalized scrimshaw. Lots of talented folks around that could do that. I don't know how the Micarta would be for that kind of thing, probably best to ask first. Lastly if it's really that hard to find sell it here on the exchange, you could even make a small reasonable ( non-gouging) profit for your trouble, I bet it wouldn't take long.

A tiny bit of yellowing might not look bad...
But not a toilet-full of it!

It was just a thought...

You can dye micarta...
Depending on your bravery: that might almost be worth a consideration...
