I am sorry about the Cool Whip container comment; I wasn't trying to bash your knife but that is what the material looked like to me in the photos.Haha good pointthey lasted about 4 minutes which actually was longer than I thought they would last! And just to be clear I didn’t intent this to be an elforyn bashing post, mostly just was hoping others who scored on this drop would share their experience as well.
Please keep us posted if you decide to do the washer mod and how it plays out. Never done it myself but should be a easy quick and dirty job.
Haha no worries, it gave me a chuckleI am sorry about the Cool Whip container comment; I wasn't trying to bash your knife but that is what the material looked like to me in the photos.
Will do! Have decided it’s a keeper, will see if Crk is willing to refinish the inlays since I do think even though the lack of grain isn’t their fault, the scuffs are just from a bad polishing job on their end. Worst case they tell me it is what it is, it’s still a cool knife and there are worse problems to haveSo if you decide to sell the knife...
Keep me in mind!![]()
I think I saw a couple for sale in the classifieds. So if you decide to sell the knife...

I think it’s the large variant coming out soon. totally up to you if the limited nature is worth the premium, I would point out I saw a lot of the smalls listed here at or slightly above retail, so I’m thinking the demand for these hasn’t been too crazy. There is gonna be a restock in 12 days.
I don't think I'll be fast enough to snag one, but this post has made me ponder the purchase anyway : are different color micarta and hardware worth 150 USD ?

I got a small 31 in Elforyn I'd let go for retail and eat the shipping and fees on. I just wanted to try CRK and Elforyn and enjoy chasing drops, but I decided I don't like the Elforyn and do like the 31, so I am looking for a plain.I think it’s the large variant coming out soon. totally up to you if the limited nature is worth the premium, I would point out I saw a lot of the smalls listed here at or slightly above retail, so I’m thinking the demand for these hasn’t been too crazy.
That's a fair point. The regular sand blasted models with micarta inlays retail for around $475 (for the small), so at $550 for the small Elforyn, a chunk of that premium is the glass blast. One other factor I think worth pointing out is that CRK won't be able to re-blast the handles of the Elforyn models due to that material not really being a typical micarta. Probably both increases the premium of having that model glass blasted in the first place, but also maybe makes it not quite as ideal as a user if you planned to get it re-blasted in the future. All things I thought hard about before deciding to keep my small ElforynThe glass blast is a good chunk of the cost as well.
You're right and I can't read wellI think it’s the large variant coming out soon.
I always prefered the PJ version but that elforyn looked so beautiful that it almost made me sway.I just wanted to try CRK and Elforyn and enjoy chasing drops, but I decided I don't like the Elforyn and do like the 31, so I am looking for a plain.
Didn't catch that either, thank you for pointing it out.The glass blast is a good chunk of the cost as well.

To me I just think the PJ will be a better user and I like the character of snail trails on the plain Ti. The Elforyn is attractive and showy, but because of its plastic nature I think it'll show markings a lot more readily micarta and not be as easy to refinish as PJ, and it's not so attractive and showy that I'd want it for that reason - I'd want a box elder burl one or bog oak one instead, so it kinda falls in between for me, not as much of an elegant gentleman's work knife as the PJ or micarta ones, not so much of a showy knife as the wood ones. You're right and I can't read well

I'd much rather have real elephant tusk ivory personally...
When I first say the name Elforyn, I was hoping it was scales made from elves...
I was joking. Not super viable given the legal issues.
Are you talking about sanding the Elforyn to get some different texture? It has this smooth, more plastic-y feel to it that does feel a bit like ivory only not cool to the touch as much. I think if I were to sand it the results would be fugly, though.I was joking.
However, I was thinking about what was said about the texture, micarta texture really is variable, and I'm guessing a little sandpaper would rough it up a bit, but would you want to do that to a brand new $500+ knife? I'm the psycho that probably would, but I know I am a unique case.
As far as different color micarta and hardware worth $150? Had to say. Its a $500+ knife, and so those things are going to naturally more expensive than say micarta scales for a PM2. Personally, I'd say no, but that's me.
The only CRK I've ever owned was a large 21 with bocote inlay, and they were quite slippery, which was surprising.
