Would be interested in one serrated, luckily the the DLC coating comes off easily with diamond sandpaper including that silly billboard sized text.. ;)

If I get one I was thinking Gun Kote IF it can be easily disassembled(?) Gun Kote would add a top layer and (in theory anyway) cover the logo.

I don't know if the 325 degrees required would affect the heat treat-if it could they also make an air temperature "cure" version.

I won't be surprised though if someone points out a valid reason this may not work (?)

My American Lawman seems perfectly strong. Never had it flex at all.

Still hope they remove that writing from the Broken Skull before release. They must have noticed us complaining about it.

Love the knife, detest the name/lettering.

I was gonna order one this week, then...the blue one is out of stock. Then, I found a Spyderco with blue nishijin scales(which I've always liked and never wanted to pay for) for $54 so...I went ahead and ordered that one instead. Maybe next week the blue Broken Skull will be back in stock.

I got mine. The blue is brighter than I hoped it would be. I will get used to it though.

It is very light and easy to carry. This is going to be a great everyday carry knife.

The jimping isn't very effective and the thinness of the handle scales could create hotspots during use.

Plus it is a good idea to be careful when opening and closing it because of the thinness. It will take some time to get used to this too.

I really like the upgrades in steels Cold Steel is offering and I like a lot of their products. I also, realize that Cold Steel targets mostly tactical or defense oriented people. One of their latest offerings is the Broken Skull. I have been hammering on them for a long while (others have too) for new colors and they have listened. Cudos. The new Broken Skull will be offered in some very nice colors (love the blue and orange). However, for reason I cannot fathom, Cold Steel made the blades black with that ugly writing on the blade. This was the knife I was hoping for (I will know more when I see it), but it has that writing and black coating. Aesthetically, these just do not look nice. Plus, in today's legal environment, if you had to defend yourself, an over zealous prosecutor, building a reputation, would crucify you for using a knife with a name like Broken Skull, not to mention that it has it emblazoned in large letters on the black tactical blade. Come on Cold Steel. Give us a break.
Pick up the Lone Star Hunter then. Same knife, but in all steel with no coating. Crappy fake stag handles, but EASILY replaceable with a g10 color of your choice. Not as light weight and isn't emblazoned with Steve Austin's logo (I'm sorry, is he relevant again?), but that's the beauty. I have the nail Nick version, but there is also a thumbstud version as well.

IMO Lone Star Hunter is good, but it can't compare with the Broken Skull in terms of weight, thinness, balance and ease of carry. I see no reason in getting the Hunter unless you are going purely for aesthetic.

What aesthetic? Its cheap plastic handle scales over steel. When you remove it its just a bare steel folder. The reason to get the Hunter is the lower price or collectibility (how oh how is that not a word). My hunter is beater. I took off the cheap ass lookin Delrin scales.

I take it back the all-steel appearance is aesthetically pleasing. :foot:

Yeah to me the all black blade and the g-10 handle is way more pleasing to look at. This is the perfect combo for me, but a lot of people here seems to have issue with the logo and the so called "mall ninja" black blade.

For all that hasn't got this yet and is concerned about the labelling and the look, trust me, get one in your hand, then you will realized that none of that really matters when you start to see how light and comfortable it is. Then you will also realized that there are more important things in your life than to care about the letter on a blade
