Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

These ol' Imperial USA Barlow knives can still be found for very affordable prices.

Imperial Kamp King.

One of these was my first pocket knife, my Grandfather gave it to me out of his tackle box in the early 1960's.

Schmidt & Ziegler Barlow.

My first new knife was one of these, a gift from my father in the mid 1960's

The Kamp King broke it's backspring and I lost the Schmdt - I replaced both much later as a reminder of them

That beauty is the Bomb...wow:eek::eek::eek::eek: I want one !

I wish I could tell you where to get one. I did a search on eBay for Old Cutler 3 blade knife and it came up. I guess the seller had trouble counting blades.:) I've searched a couple time since, and so far have not found another one for sale. It looked like it had never been used. There was a little bit of lite rust on the back springs, and some lite spotting starting on the blade. Otherwise I would have thought it was made from stainless steel. The factory spent quite a bit time making it look pretty. Scalloped and polished springs and blades. But almost no time making it sharp. I fixed that.

Thank You! :D

I have a old tip bolster clip point and cap lifer/(flat) screw driver two blade Syracuse Knife Co knife complete with what I believe to be genuine MOT (Mother of Toilet Seat) covers, no walk/talk/snap or backspring movement on the main blade, alotsa blade wiggle, and at least a 1/32 inch gap at the pivot end between the spring and center liner.
(it was in this condition when I received it.)

I was having less than zero luck getting info on the company.
