Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

rifzklB.jpg

I had forgotten about thrifty Thursday last week but remembered today so I pocketed this flea-bay find to work. Imperial Prov. R.I., no half stops,
smooth opening and closing and nice snap. Sharpens nicely as well.
Finished early today so grabbed this Boker Magnum scout with Blackwood handles to use while installing a security light outside at home. This one
is a great knife for the money IMO. Again very smooth opening and closing blade action with no half stops, ( I don't care for half stops), very nice fit and finish and has steel liners which I find to look especially nice on a knife with Blackwood handles. Just feels solidly built to me.

Great idea for a thread, John!:cool::thumbsup: I've been reading it from the outset even though I haven't posted any examples yet. My knife purchasing style is, by choice, primarily quite thrifty, I think, so I have LOTS of knives I could post here. I happen to be carrying this Laguiole this week. I bought it in Denia, Spain in January 2015 for 7 euros (about 8.25 USD at the time).
Very pleasant action, and I have no complaints about the 440 stainless blade.

Yours was the inspiration for me acquiring mine! I even re-created a photo of it on a knit cap you posted previously. See about midway down the last page of the “Knives you wish were made” thread:

I'm sorry for missing your posts in the other thread Tom, thank you for the link :) You've done a great job with that knife  The knit cap was another gift from Duncan @Campbellclanman , who also gave me the knife :)

Given my weakness for inexpensive knives, it looks like just Thrifty Thursday alone is not going to be enough for me to showcase my treasures. I have therefore decided to rename the all other days of the week as well:

Bon Marché Monday
Tacky Tuesday
Money’s Worth Wednesday
Thrifty Thursday
Frugal Friday
Stingy Saturday
Dime Store Sunday

I swear I had this one picked out before I saw Jack's Zorro knife...
I have a few of these and they all make me smile.
Lone Ranger's my favorite of the bunch.

The other masked man! :D Cool John, that knife always makes me smile too :)
