Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

I really love Imperial Toothpicks!

Intersting .22 ammo. My very first .22 was a Revelation, single shot bolt action my dad bought me I guess around '73-'74. Still have it in my closet, but I need to replace the little extractor spring.

Not sure who Brian is, but I have his knife! Decent bone covers.

Yeah, I collect old ammo boxes and fishing tackle. Knives aren’t my only passion, and any chance I get to combine them, I love it. I love those old store brand guns too (Western Field, JC Higgins, Ted Williams); there’s not a lot of collector interest in them, but I pick them up if I get the chance. It’s interesting to research what company made them, and sometimes you can find a nice gun at a decent price. Sadly the GCA of ‘68 was the beginning of the end for the store brand guns.

Me, too, especially those with 2 blades! The striped covers on yours are exemplary! Here's the only one I currently have:

Yours is a nice one too and better than average condition. It seems you see fifteen single blades to one two blade; I’m always looking for them though. I’ll post more Imperial/Hammer Brand in the weeks to come.

From old Cathay.
How is that canoe? I've never heard of that brand, but there are few canoe knives that I don't like. Looks good to me!:thumbsup::cool:

I no longer have this knife, but it was a thrifty purchase (under $9) that I gave to someone else. I keep buying these medium-sized lockbacks and then realizing that I really don't care for the pattern very much.:oops: This one is called a "bark bone" lockback:

Free from a farm supply store with the purchase of T-posts and no-climb horse fence
That's pretty cool that they gave you a free knife. That's the way to earn repeat business. 🤠:thumbsup::thumbsup:
These days, around here, I'm lucky to get a Thank You Come Again... somebody really needs to be teaching these kids about "service".
