Tidioutte 23TL Bullock has landed!

IMO, the tidioute is "right way up" Dave!
The industry "standard" of nomenclature for 100s of years denotes the backspring as the back of the knife, and you sit the knife on its back to describe and display it.
Nice knife!!

But then I noticed your shoe was on the wrong foot!!
:D

Thanks Charlie. I know its right but it looks odd just on this knife for some reason...to me. It is a nice knife! GEC just keeps getting it right!

Trev.............

thanks for your thought and comparison photo's on this one..it really helps.........

That is a fine BIG knife...The mechanism intrigues me,as it appears to be the same sort of lock as my french locker, except you lift the ring to disengage the lock....Nice review..FES

I think someone mentioned this earlier but I think this paticular knife would be better with a lanyard hole.

The security at GEC has been tightened up considerably, but every once in a while my spies have some success!

I like the Grizz, but this is my Grail!!

It's a beauty! The shield with NACB is a nice touch.

I'm with you...the Antique Yellow and Cocobolo are calling me.............

Glad it helped, makes it worth that much more:thumbup:

Akadave2, make sure you post some pics of that yellow beauty when it lands!

I will...looking over the Griz pattern I have now, it perterbed me that they only made 25 of them. Now Im afraid to use it!...lol! And this one I ordered is the one I wanted for my safe queen!!

I forgot to add that my Grizzly Cut 23TL does not have the numbered etching on the other side of the blade. Not sure if they made some with a number and some without or if I got a one off'er.

That is weird? Maybe they used one of the blades from the numbered Yellow bone knives?

Grizz is Tidioute, Yellow Rose is Northfield. But it appears hit and miss as I checked the last two I had in stock and only one has the etch without the number. Just a factory error from going 100mph getting knives out the door.

Lol!...you do know 50 years from now there will be a whole thread somewhere on the significance of some having the number and some not:D

Neither rain nor sleet nor snow; nor pretty hot weather shall stop the mail!
That was quick! Got to the PO box yesterday, and I picked it up today!
This is a wonderful knife! Nice bone, fit and finish.
Bigger than my usual carries of course, at 4 1/2" long, but slim enough to pocket. Sturdy, and a mechanical wonder. Nice walk and talk, it opens at about what I understand to be a "6" on the informal pull scale.
But it locks open like a tank, just slamming into place with no play, no way!!
The opening mechanism gives you the leverage to close it handily, and provides a thumb rest while the knife is in use.
A venerable old design, exquisitely executed! I don't usually rant over a knife unless it pushes a lot of buttons. This one hits nearly all of them.
