Tidioutte 23TL Bullock has landed!

Thanks for the pictures and reviews. Very tough decision, they are all so nice. I went with ebony.

A venerable old design, exquisitely executed! I don't usually rant over a knife unless it pushes a lot of buttons. This one hits nearly all of them.

Uh huh, very nice. Ones on the way here too. The stag should be even better I think though.

While I have one of the bone enroute, I also believe the stag to be the version to kick butt and take names. Can't wait to get a look at that one.

Just got mine today! My first GEC,thanks for the recommendation. ;)

And as the OP stated, it's not a small knife. Put next to my LionSpy that I also received today for comparison and the LionSpy is a pretty big knife...

Can't wait to use it!

I end away from locks now, even ones like lockbacks and levers that are considered traditional, but I'm interested in the quirkier locks like this or the virobloc. Well, maybe the virobloc isn't exactly quirky, but anyways.. Looking at this lock though, it looks so very cool to me, and very old school. I don't know the history of this lock type or when it first came about, but I can see some sailor who's been around the world a bit carrying one of these up the rigging with himor perhaps some rail worker or cattle baron who's got a bit of money bringing one of these back from the East with him, catching the eyes of his cattle hands.

As I said I've mostly moved away from locking blades these days, mostly, this one has me very close to pressing the "Buy" button. I'd love to see it in a smaller frame though. I doubt I'd be hesitating at all if it was on a 73 frame, or something that size anyways.

Got my Northfield Bull Lock so now I have a pair. The northfiled has the long pull and the polished blade with swedge. Very nice knife. Both are huge and I think I will need a belt sheath to carry on a regular basis. Im thinking of just carrying the Tidioute and leaving the Northfield more or less pristine. Not sure.

Good looking pair Akadave! I really like the antiqued bone from GEC, probably one of my favorite handle choices from them. I will have admit, the bull shield doesn't do it for me. I know it's minor but had it not had that I probably would have pulled the trigger on one. Congrats on another great knife!

I dont mind the shield so much. It doesnt look cheap like some of the other manufactureres shields, and its pinned. Its a fine knife for sure. Ill probably carry the Grizz bone handled one initially. They are big ol knives!

Very nice! I just ordered the NF Antique Yellow. I too will be interested in a belt sheath for this. Can anyone recommend where to find one that will fit this knife snug in brown leather? Not sure if the thumb lock will be a problem? Thanks!

Here's my Cocobolo along with the Spyderco Native 5. Both arrived yesterday. Loving the size but will definitely have to go in a belt sheath.

I think this will be a good opportunity for one of the makers in the forums to make a special sheath for this model knife.

Nice and snug in this belt sheath I received as part of the trade for a Middlebrook large trapper.

I just picked up one of these in yellow bone last week. I have to say it is very nice. Just curious, when closed, does anyones blade stick out of the top a little?

ixnay on the odernmay nifekay

wow your photos really do it justice.
I was concerned that the lever might be in some ways "flimsy"-That would appear not to be so.
I'm liking it a lot.
cheers great review.
