Time for the 2011 Blade Show Pics (Including Blade Booty)

It is awesome to be reminded what people who I consider to be friends look like. I'll make it out there one of these years and have a blast with ya'll.

Only casualty...after Cracker Barrel on the ride home. I'm too manly to get stiches

Stiches!!!!!!! Heck, I've had worse cuts than that in my eyeball !!!:)

Great pictures Campbell. Thanks for posting them and giving us an inside look at Blade2011.

great pix ... great knives ... great fellowship ... love the goose :D

Geez Campbell.....I didn't even see you taking pics. The biggest guy in the room taking pictures and I didn't see it happening. :p

All three of the knives you picked up are fantastic but the Erickson and the Zcherney really stand out to me.

This one's going to the Holy Land. The pic is hijacked from Vince's thread. I can't get to Blade, but these forums do help me make sure that i get a little satisfaction. Thanks to Vince, and of course thanks Dan.

Here's a two bladed Dr. knife from Dan,with a scalpel secondary blade, firey pearl embellished with fancy inlaid bars.

Beautiful knives>>>one day eh CLANSMEN???

And a good day it will be Brother

Much more like great than good. :)

Ed,
I was wondering who snagged that puppy. I liked it so much, I placed an order with Dan. :D. Congratulations on a very nice knife that is heading your way.

What a great few days. It is nothing short of a privilege to have been able to spend time with a lot of you who frequent this corner of BF.

Booty shots.

This knife by Ken is something else. Thanks Ken. You pulled this one off incredibly.

Mike Zscherny really nailed this one too. I did not come close to doing it justice in the picture (did not with Ken's either.)

Enrique Pena really has a lot of talent and I really enjoyed meeting him. The knife works as good or better than it looks. Top shelf work from this relatively new maker and great guy to boot.

And I was very fortunate to take one of Kerry's knives home. ;) (Did not even have to bop him over the head.)

Now all that is left is deciding if I am really going to ship the knives that I picked up for a close friend or keep 'em. :o If by some small chance I actually mail them to him, I will let him post the pictures:D

Hi Campbell -

Awesome pictures - looks like a great time!

I will go next year come hell or high-water.

I just got home from attending a good friends wedding - the ceremony was held at home plate at Busch stadium.

Thank you for the pictures - and nice haul!!!

Well another show has come and gone and this one was amongst the best imho. It was great to see some Blade Show inaugural appearances by Traditional Forum member/makers like Ken Erickson and Bret Dowell and also to finally have the opportunity to meet some other maker/members whose presence has been missed, like Keith Johnson (amongst others).

Also, a real pleasure to put some faces with names of several of our forum members. Thanks, guys for making this place what it is.
(There's just too many of you for my tired old head to list at the moment.)

Knifewise, I did very well.

Two amazing knives by Ken Erickson. One I already knew about, a double-end Eureka Jack, and the other was a huge (and amazing) surprise.
(I'll have a write-up on the latter knife after Ken arrives home and sends me some images to share which may come close to doing this knife justice. It's really that good.)

I also got a great knife from Jerry Halfrich...a custom version of the Case "Bulldog" which is impressive in both size and execution. Unfortunately, due to a dealer's lack of attention and care it has to go back to Jerry for a little love to bring it back to where it was before the unfortunate incident.

The fourth and final knife I purchased at the show is an amazing stockman by Richard Rogers (which is listed in the 2011 Blade Show Knives thread). I'll have more to write about this knife at a later date.

The knife in my pocket tonight is another nice one off the bench of Rick Menefee which completes a trade we've had going since the last Blade Show. It's a Northfield "Half Whittler" shadow in natural micarta. A light, impressive knife at 4 1/4" closed and only 2 3/8 ounces. With a single backspring this knife is a joy to carry.

Lastly, I was gifted a really nice ivory trapper with modified wharncliffe by forum member John Lloyd. I hope to post images of it in the next week or so.

A great time with great friends. Hard to ask for more.

I gotta say that the special knife Ken made for my brother Elliott is one of the most amazing custom traditional knives I have ever handled. Period. :D
Also gotta say, his stockman that Richard made is the finest stockman I have ever handled. Period. :D

Yup Elliott did not do too bad at all. Looks like Vince and Campbell made out like bandits too. :)

Thanks, Gus...You didn't do too bad either.:cool:

I did make one mistake at the show...I had a coffin jack by Bret Dowell in my hand and made the mistake of handing it back and walking away for a few mintues. When I finally found Bret after that it was too late. Someone is going to be very happy with that very nice knife! Next time I won't make that same mistake. ;)

It was an awesome time for sure! Great knives, Even better people... Nice to put

Picked-up a few nice knives... post some pic's tomorrow.
