Time to Change Your Snark Plugs

What all do you plan on making with all of those fancy new tools Bladite?

well, i've always been something of a wood worker... metal is fascinating, will do more, but probably not to the level of wanting a lathe, mill, etc. heating and hammering is fun though. a grinder for sure.

the shoppe? well, the house needs some work. i'd like to do a not too shitty job. been using hand-held saws and corded and battery tools for ages. it's okay, but doesn't scale well. bookcases. a table or four. the deck will need work soon. outdoor projects i'd like to do fast, well, and clean. i want to improve and finish the basement and garage a lot. you know, stuff :D work benches!

but i'd really like to do some fancy wood projects. bucket list. not getting younger. in fact.

ironically, my ultimate goal is to get back to basics, more old school hand tools, slower, finer fiddly work, but i'll augment with proper tech as needed... bodger/shaving bench for pleasant evening outdoor work, a nice wood bench ala Paul Selllers, or a Moravian Bench, or ... yeah.

i'm probably going to knock out a lot of boxes and shoppe furniture, bird houses, bat houses, mini-libraries, and things. having good tools makes such things a pleasure, and not something you have to improvise.

what's a good revenge for stink bombs? :D

mmm...

my dad would have probably woken me up in the night, screaming, while waving an axe around.

though, he wouldn't have been kidding :D

Oh, OK. I just thought Sunday started at the same time every week - at Midnight. :D

There was some freakish time-warp around here. First kept me from sleeping. Then when I did go to sleep, I didn't get to stay that way long enough.

Maybe WW's old ways are spreading.

Someone needs to look into that.

Lots of snarking today!! I like it!

Crawled out of bed this afternoon and almost sat on the couch instead of going fishing. Man am I glad I went fishing. I ended up having my best night of fishing so far this winter. I caught 10 or 11 walleye and lost another 5 or 6. Lost a nice northern pike too. Now I have a belly full of walleye and some for the freezer too.

Do that, but with a chainsaw.

Or, tomorrow you could drive him to school and hug him before he goes in. Just make sure lots of his friends are watching. :D

Remember that '78 Mercury Cougar I wanted to buy but missed out on? Might have a second chance. This baby is listed at $1200.

For 36 yo, the right side looks pretty good. The key is the engine and drive train. Hope they test out OK. Loose the trunk fins and square up the spare tire hump, and it looks a lot like the 1977 Ford Granada I had. That one was $4800 NOSF.

According to Wikipedia, '79 only had a 400 Cleveland V8 mated to a C6 auto trans. Not indestructible but pretty tough.

I've almost gotten Granada here and there. They are smaller than these though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WW!

well yesterday I had a bit of fun. The temperature when up to 35.6F (which is the warmest its been in over 40 days) so we decided to get out of the house! The kids were playing in the driveway and riding their bikes. I decided to play with my BK5 a little bit. First up, water bottles;

Then we went to the park and played tag! after running around a bit the boy and girl found a stick and they wanted to carve them. Had my 13 riding in with the 5 so they got a little practice!

Had a blast! Was funny, the wife asked me which knife I was going to buy for each child lol. I told her that was something I'm still working on ;) and we'll see whats available when their old enough and responsible enough to carry it on their own.

My carry for yesterday's adventure :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WW!

Thanks bro, and great pics again!!

Yeah, go back to bed and don't get up. Nothing good has ever happened on this day. :p

Yea huh, my wife made me biscuits and gravy and sausage and hashbrowns this morning.. Thats full of good already :p

Im liking the new cop show "Battle Creek" It's a good mix of funny/police drama. Kal Penn from "Harold and Kumar" plays a detective on the show.... But of course he is still a pothead HA!!

I'm thinking if I end up buying that Lincoln I'm going to comic-con as Uncle Buck. I already have a fedora, just need a cigar, trench coat, and a couple kids to play Miles and Maizy.
