I can help. I got a chain in the back of my truck. Just hold on to a light pole real tight and I'll get it out.



I'm not going to be doing much of anything today. My knee has been bothering me for a week, everything is covered in ice so about the time it starts feeling better I slip again. I'll might go to the Dr. to get a referral to an orthopedist if keeps hurting like it is.

Thanks. Between that and the Crisco, I think we can get it. You are welcome to come fishing with me today. Just kneel down on the ice and you won't need an ice pack. If that don't work out I'll grill ya a ribeye.

I haven't been sleeping too well myself the last few days. I dont think ive slept for mote than 3 hours in a row this week. The night shift definitely messes a fella up. I've been on it for darn near 8 years.
 
#1 truck is in the body shop until late next week. :-/
#2 vehicle is in for less, uh unexpected service and I'm waiting for it. Taking a rental out in these conditions seems crazy.

Sucks to have vehicle troubles. My pickup still runs and drives fine, but I figured I would get it looked at before the warranty runs out.
 
Worst thing about getting a foot of snow is zumba class is cancelled.

That sucks. As soon as the mechanic opens I have to go pick up my Sonoma. Turned out to be a couple stupid minor things that I should have caught myself but it was cold and snowing and I didn't feel like working on it myself.

Layer of ice and then about 2 inches of snow here. Sledding and snowmen commence soon. I wish my pink Machax were done. It would look great in the snow.

Fishing sound good! I just finished mowing the lawn. I have a new mower with a bag on it so now I can cut the grass and pick up the dog poop all in one shot. Life is good.
Going to clean up the grill and get it ready for tonight also.. what you have planed sounds good..I might do the same. Heading out to the range to do some shooting soon.

Cold steel using a lot of different steels these days.. S35VN, CTS-XHP, 3V, 20CV, BD1 ETC. Lotsa lotsa choices.


School was cancelled here...... Where is their sense of adventure ??

I think that's great! I'm stilling hoping for a TM in 3V, that seems like a no-brainer. However, all the same goofs that have been complaining for years that CS only used cheap steel, are screaming because now they cost a few bucks more with much better steel. :rolleyes: You just can't please some people.

I was scanning through one of those whiny threads recently and was amazed at the number of people upset about how now this year they can only afford to buy 2 or 3 knives they'll never use, instead of 5 or 6 knives they'll never use. :confused:

That's seriously one of the main things that attracted me to you lunatics here in Beckerland... not a whole lot of fondlers and safe-queens in this bunch. Even the cats who own/have owned dozens or hundreds of knives, almost always do actually use them for something other than collecting dust :D

I use mine all the time for one thing or another and still find the time to just fondle it also.

The concept of the safe queen with regards to knives has always intrigued me. There is another aspect of that whole group that befuddles me as well but that's a can I'm not opening.

I have a few knives that are nothing but safe queens. I knew when I bought them they would never be used. They are just to look at and admire.
Same thing with coin collectors who spend upwards of millions of dollars for a coin that will only be looked at until its sold again.
I get the same enjoyment out of my knives that will never see use as the ones I use and abuse the heck out of...well, maybe a little more out of the ones I use and play with.:)
 
Nothing wrong with having a safe queen. I have a few that could be considered safe queens (even though they technically have been used). More nostalgic value than anything. I guess I'm just intrigued by the various reasons why people do the things they do and knives are one thing I know a little about.
