Since oil and water don't mix, this won't prevent sticking. It only works if you put it into the pasta after it's cooked and drained. If you put it in before, you're just boiling the pasta in a pot with some oil floating on top. Best way to get your pasta cooked right is to make sure and use a big pot with lots of water and keep it boiling until the noodles are cooked; strain and put them back in the pot with a little oil of your choice or butter or margarine. Alton says don't do it...so don't.

Amen to this! Water for pasta should have salt in it, not oil.

I really like the looks of those hawks. Purple g-mascus oh yessssss!!!

Hoss I'll add you. Same name as here.

Pretty nice looking hatchet for a flea market find.

I suspect she had put canola oil or cotton seed oil in the water to keep the spaghetti strands from sticking together, the pot boiled over and any floating oil went first and.... poof. Burner fire. All you need is a tablespoon or two in the pot to prevent sticking. Too much more is wasted. Pasta can boil over really easily.

She was actually browning burger to put in the sauce. Water was on another burner and not boiling yet. Musta been some oil under the burner somehow.

What's the name of the place of the legendary boudin? I'm rolling east on I-10. Might or might not get to stop today, definitely on the way back home.

No clue, but the folks who made the awesome meat sticks were Green's Sausage House in Temple, Tx.

While you guys have been enjoying Spring, we were having a little more snow......snowing a very little, still. Been shaping canvas Micarta for the last hour or so. Used my four-in-hand for a bit to rough in a little more profile....works pretty good with hand files/rasps.

very nice, good safety stuff too :D

Hehe, for once, the voices in your head were actually helpful!

So far, I've never been let down by that little voice in my head. It's all the other outside voices that cause problems and confusion...

In other news: THK Ma Deuce Deluxe teaser vid. First try at this cut, unrehearsed and unedited. Cutting a 20 oz. water bottle is for sissies... :D

Another damn good score. This is a valve grinder and Dubz nailed the hog scrapers. The tool trunk is badass.
