Tired of youtubers failing to open tri-ads and lockbacks in frame

Like what you like, but personally I think it's a turd of a company ran by a turd.

I have the back lock flick down and I'm surprised when people find it difficult.

Didn't mean to bring up the triad cru into the mix, it was a knee jerk situation.

One mans trash is you know how it goes. All butthurt aside they offer products widely accepted by first responders, armed forces and law enforcement. My main problem with the company was that most of their stuff is made in Taiwan. I got over that because I was only depriving myself. A funny fat man filing lawsuits and destroying sebenzas doesn't bother me so much.

^^Taiwanese spidies are awesome, I'm not familiar with other companies products from there though. I'm sure they make some great tools and not having owned any, I'm sure makes it easier for me to say ship about them as a company.

I'll buy a Taichung one of these days. I don't flick cold steels though. The xls can be centrifugal opened if need be. And I replace the thumb stud with a wave like devise on smaller models.

Dito this. Demko was a game changer and at this point with the latest improvements in coatings and steels you're only cheating yourself by writing them off. It depends on what type of user you are though. Some treat their knives like jewelry or identity trinkets. Others just want a good utility knife. And some do a little bit of both. If you're in the first category then CS admittedly isn't the type of brand that pulls any heartstrings.

But never mind all that. Didn't make this topic to defend CS (or defend my editing skills. It was shot on my phone and edited in Adobe Clip on that same phone in less than ten minutes), the Hold Out just happens to be notoriously difficult to open because it's one of the stiffest tri-ads on the market...

I've been away a few years but I don't remember this place being a circle-jerk for angry nerds?

Your memory may be correct because I'm a fairly new member. I apologize for my remarks, and it had nothing to do with the intention of your post. It was one of those situations where I'd be better off biting my tongue.. but cold steel strikes a chord. I'm very much a usually quiet poster, but when I read certain things it gets me fired up.

I'll write them off all day long though, way better companies/knives to spend my money on.

Yeah my hold out 2 is a stiff sucker. Didn't know they can be flicked. That's why I added my wing nut wave.

No harm, no foul. Just didn't expect to get roasted since the attitude was a lot different where I left off.

Do people seriously need an instructional video on how to open a knife?
(That's a real question)
I don't own a Cold Steel folder - never have, and likely never will - but what the heck are they doing to them that people supposedly can't figure how to open them?

Or is that issue imagined by the OP to justify making a video about it?

I think it's a legit thing. My first knife was a lockback and I didn't think it was flickable but I learned later after playing w/using it.

Some you tubers are so awkward it makes one want to cross a reviewed knife off the list. In some cases it's not as awkward if you're competent.

I've had mixed feelings on the crk element that was just recently released but I'm confident it could work for me.

Oh ffs lol...

Here's the video that prompted it. I'm in the comments.

As a general rule, I don't watch YouTube reviews...too many are without value (to me); and, frankly, I usually get annoyed quickly, close them, and move on to other things.
So what's the issue with these knives that people can't open them?
