TJ Schwarz Perpetua

Unfortunately I have QC problems with mine. Mine came off center, rubbing the liner, and with blade play. There is a spot on the blade that you can see where it was hitting, it's not to prevalent has to be in good light. I was able to tighten the play out and get the blade off the liner. It's only off where it no longer rubs and I can't get the centering on. It's too bad, because other than that I like the knife and think it has potential. I actually didn't have the give in my clip either, and I like the blade shape. I also got a cool SN 747. I will say I'm a little bummed and don't know what to do.

Take a look at the pivot in good light and make sure you have equal washers on both sides. Stranger things have happened during assembly.

I was able to fix my centering by straightening the liners. Both of my liners wouldn't sit flat on a glass table so I gently bent them until they both sat flat. After re-assembly, everything lined up. The liners (and pocket clip) are made of 304 SS which is not hardenable steel. That is why it is soft and really lacks the spring needed for a good pocket clip. I believe the next run (if there is one) will address these issues. You can't call it a good hard use knife if you can bend the liners with 2 fingers without any spring back.

I'll definitely give that a try. I have it apart hoping to get another Omega spring, I'll check the liners when I go to put it back together. I saw a comment similar to this on my MD post too, it might of been yours I don't remember.

I put a ticket in like Monday and all I've gotten was a generic response saying they need to send my issue to a "specialized team" or some crap, never heard anything back.

I actually bought a second one because I saw there were only 3 left and figured they would run out and I wouldn't get a replacement. So I used the credits we got from the late delivery and they credits from the Terzuola drop towards it, and I figured I'll figure out the rest if I ever hear from Customer service. I may just end up contacting Millit direct for a spring.

I got my refund for my Perpetua. That was an incredibly long wait for a terrible disappointment. I had such high hopes too. My Hogue HK Exemplar is what an axis lock should be.

Been thinking about getting the Hogue Exemplar, how’s the knife in general? Does the lock feel similar to other benchmade?

Btw just got confirmation from Millit on instagram that both the clip and the liners are using 304 stainless steel which is non-heat treatable. The hardness of the steel is 35rc while the lockbar is 45rc.
This is the reason why people has been reporting bent clip as well as dents in liners where the lockbar contacts. This is how i found the soft liner issue. I aldo found that the liners has absolutely no springiness to it, was also able to center the blade simply by bending the handle towards the opposite side.
If you found that your blade becomes poorly centered after taking it apart or after harduse, carried in back pocket, or anything that could add pressure to the liners, it’s because the liners are slightly bent.

It's great. I love mine. A grind thin enough to make a Griptilian look bad, and a great HT on the 154cm. Lock is absolutely buttery smooth after cleaning. Based on the action, if the blade steel was better I wouldn't be upset paying $200+ for it.

Glad I stopped by this thread. The Exemplar looks excellent and I just ordered one. I love that the blade has an Umnumzaam style look to it.

Mine came clean, sharp, and straight. I have had it for 10 days and the only problem is the flimsy pocket clip has started losening up a little bit. Otherwise, I love the dang thing!

I saw this a day or 2 ago, looks awesome. Hopefully the make them. Anyone want to guess what the price is gonna be for a titanium replacement clip?
