To All Bladeforum Members

I don't frequent the Emerson board, but this thread caught my eye, and I read all of it with interest, especially since I do use eBay quite a bit.

My impartial take? gilabmx took a hit and made it right with those involved. He shouldn't be further slammed by folks here. Unfortunately... Internet + Anonymity + Distance = People Who Like to Run Their Mouths

I have a legitimate question for gilabmx though. Why the Private Feedback? I've always wondered why a stand-up seller would want that feature on eBay. The only reason I could think of was that a seller might be selling "adult" items for which he/she would rather not have a public record. I've done one small transaction with a "Private Feedback" seller. Turned out just fine in my case.

Not a critique... just a sincere question.

Man,I thought this was all over,too....I was one of the buyers-I let it go...
Now ya have heard from the seller-HE has ALSO let it go,and put it behind him...
Someone kill this thread,PLEASE!

The seller posted in this thread just yesterday. You act like this thread is a year or more old.

FWIW when ya post in a thread it kicks the thread back up if ya dont like/agree/etc just dont post in it,

He keeps posting, cause he is still getting flak over this, and is obligated to defend himself-The private feedback thing made me wonder too-I never asked him why it is private....:jerkit:

Why the jerkit? Lot of attitude for someone with 11 posts. :foot:

My question was a sincere one and not out of bounds. The seller doesn't have to address it; I thought perhaps someone else might know the answer as well. The thread is titled "To All Bladeforum Members."

well here is your answer, i dont know if you sell on ebay or not but alot of people including myself have had a problem with what is called bounty hunting. other sellers will search your feedback when you sell a similar item for your customers and then contact them with offers on merchandise. as a broker i have sold many high dollar items , jewelry, coins ect. and have many repeat customers who have requested that there ebay id and the items they have purchased be kept private. the ratings are still listed and until this mess were 100 percent positive. so that is your answer. and one other thing i dont really see how that the amount of post a person has should but more or less weight on there opinion, especially when it is an actual informed opinion. i think i will leave this site behind me and hopefully this will finally die, especially since the whole thing is over.thanks

Makes perfect sense. I had truly never thought of that angle. Thank you kindly for taking the time to respond. In retrospect, now that I see that this thread's presence troubles you so much, I should have just emailed.

To answer your question, it's my opinion that folks ought to spend a little time understanding the tone of a board before they start posting dramatic, off-base comments. This kind of thing might be the norm on other boards, but such is certainly not the case on BladeForums. I *do know* because I've been around for 6 years; my post count has nothing to do with it. skroll5 acted as though I were resurrecting a five-year-old thread and then included a jerk-it emoticon in his reply about private feedback. Neither was called for. I appreciate the fact that he was defending you. It was, however, his tone toward my posts that I took issue with.

gilabmx, I hope you do stick around on BF. It's a good site with a lot of comradery, good will, and useful information. Your actions in this entire affair, as I understand them, show you to be the kind of person who would be most welcome around these parts.

Oh,boy-I was meaning the "jerkit" mainly because I SHOULD have asked about the feedback being private, but just never did.. (I just plain forgot!).if you were offended,I`m sorry

Not offended. Just annoyed initially. Seemed like an odd place/usage for the emoticon, which generally conveys sarcasm and/or disregard.

No worries.

Okay *this time* (really, I promise), I'll let the thread go.

Mr. Emerson sir, Being a person understanding combat I have an interest in your knives. Unfortunatly for me I was born left handed although I've learned to a degree to use both hands effiently through nessesity. My question for you is,being as good as you claim to be, why is your company prejudice against left handed people? Attempting to buy one of your knewest blades I was told that you no longer make a left handed model. That if I wanted one it would cost me an extra $25. to get one with the clip on the side I would need it on to use the wave feature. Then I was told if I didn't want to pay your company the extra expense I could just buy the right handed model and find some way to machine the holes. Is this the truth or just the laziness of a sales person on your staff. Maybe the chinese knife can be bought with for a lefty.

WOW, you're a total idiot. I would go into detail but you wouldn't understand. Stick to chinese knives, there perfect for you.:jerkit:

he's just looking for an excuse to talk to the man...what is an extra 25 bucks for a custom order??

getting back on topic, I'm glad I ordered from Emerson Knives website. My other hobby is screen used movie props, and I have seen enough fakes on ebay than you could possibly imagine... but this commander auction looked pretty genuine. Good eyes guys!!
