speaking of bags...found this one in Ye Olde Surplus Shoppe the other day. I dunno where I would be going to need a bag that size...but wherever it is, I don't WANNA go! Cant see it but there IS Becker content...trusty BK14 in my hip-pocket behind my wallet (as always)

any of u Vets know what that bag is and what it's for? It was freakishly HUGE...I'm a large person, most 'packs look like postage stamps on my back...this thing dwarfed me!

I'm talking too heavy for my backpack. I have one of those German fold up jobbies. Not sure how much it weighs, but she's solid.

Mine rides in my pack unless I'm in the Jeep. Hell Dubz as big as you are, your hands are probably steam shovels, just reach down and take a chunk out of terra firma. :D

Holy crap, that thing is huge.

Murph, I was talking about one of these. It probably weighs 3-4 lbs, guessing:

Haha. I actually have mine in my truck. I have a fold up jobbie I keep in my pack. Got it at Wally world. I think it's a Coghlans.

TB, that's a MOLLE rifleman pack. Not sure what generation, but I hated that pack. The frames were junk on the 2nd gen I had. I broke 3 or 4. I tucked mine away in favor of an issued CFP90 Vector pack I liberated from Mountain Warfare school.
Oh, and mine was woodland, not gravelflauge.

Geez, thats an issue CARRY pack!? I figgered it was for some sort of equipment storage...like tarps or something. No way would I want to tote that! I think a Large ALICE pack is too big, The Medium ALICE is about perfect I think. If u had that gigantour pack full, it would weigh 250 pounds!
Thats for ''HumVee Carry'' LOL

Dubz, that shovel is a bit less compact than mine. Here's my issued shovel.

TB, yeah they weren't comfy at all. Still, like most things, some guys swear by those packs.

now that's a nice folding shovel! I was talking about the old school trenchin tool. That one u got looks about right size. I must now Google.

It's the current issue. Great shovel! Gerber (I know.) I believe. There's also a MOLLE pouch that I need to pick up. I gotta get to the man-mall(surplus store)) soon anyway. I wanna pick one up in coyote. On the ALICE, It was my favorite until I discovered how much I wanted a separate sleeping bag compartment. That's that odd shaped zippered compartment on the back of the one you're wearing in the pic.

I like some Gerber stuff...that slide-out saw they have is great! I have like 3 or 4 of them, way preferable to a folding saw IMHO! Of course it's a Fiskar's and not really a gerber...but thats beside the point

Who needs a saw?? I just watched Les Stroud literally chew a small tree beaver style to help fall it

Tonight I learned, in a survival situation Beaver Style > Doggie Style

Are the new Survivorman episodes airing now?! I figured I had another month or two, they just started shooting last month I believe.

Haven't seen those yet. Some here tell me I should get a Sven Saw. Gerber may be a bit more affordable and my kid endorses the brand!

that one. They make another one that looks different, I have NO experience with other one...the gerber folding saws are, eh. But this sliding one is superb. U can make it as long or short as u need, the locking knob will lock in any position. Its sharp, stays that way. Ive had one for at least 8 years if not longer. Carry it in my hunting pack, weighs almost nil, very small compact design. I use it a LOT, trimming shooting lanes, building ground-blinds, etc etc. and its still as sharp as when I got it. Also works well for trap building.

I have 2, and all my nephews and brothers have one. Good piece of gear

*after shopping...I found the Gerber is hard to find, unless its in a pack with a pruner for more money. I found this (Fiskars 9257 6-Inch Power Tooth Sliding Pruning Saw with Carabiner Clip) though...same thing but with a carabiner. So I just ordered one. AND it dont say ''Gerber'' on it so Im urine-free LMAO

Yup gotta look for one now, saw. GB, that sounded familiar. I think I have all three seasons, maybe that's why.

I have one and find it pretty good for when I go camping for more than a week. I also find it very comfortable.

I call mine "the Kitchen Sink" because you really can fit everything in it!

I have used that same saw for the last two years, and it has worked amazingly well. Also incredibly light compared to your standard folding saw.
