Beautiful boat
Thanks!Beautiful boat
You’re a testament to wooden boat building. The more clamps, the better!!
Love the Willis grill.
Thanks. I wasnt sure if I would ever finish that one. Took me a couple different tries to get that shield to inlay right. I finally set it aside and did another knife and came back to it. 3rd time was a charm lol. That's sweet Tim!
Very cool knife!Finished this one up a few days ago. A good friend was over the other day and saw it and walked out with it. I've never fought with a knife more than this one but I was pleased how it turned out in the end.

Thanks! I'm working on getting more out in the public to sale. I've had a few lately that Ive finished that were special projects and gifts. I'll post on BF first for sale then to IG and Reddit.Do you make many knives? I think I’ve only ever seen one come up for sale.
That’s a beautiful piece by the way![]()
Use to make a lot of leather working Round Knives. I stopped some years back cause the $^$#@^& suckers wanna jump off the grinder and bite you. A lot. Anyhoo I had a few blanks profiled and heat treated and made the last two up recently as I was personally in need of a new one. This one went to a fellow BF member and leather worker. African Blackwood for the handle:

They are ground from .040 AEB-L stock at 62-63 RC.

Years ago when I was making any of these guys I came up with the sharpness test of having them cut out the leather for their own sheath.

My own new personal one on the right in mesquite. My old one on the left. It was ready to retire:

I expect them to cut through heavy saddle leather in one pass. They do.

Meanwhile, Nichole had been kicking around a purse idea for some months. There is a type of chap called AZ Bells or often just "step ins". I have made multiple pairs over the years for different cowboys. Here's a fancy pair I did for a guy on the coast:

These were made from oiled boarhide. Boarhide is a common leather to make this style of chap from.

So Nichole's idea was to make a purse using some of the design characteristics of AZ Bells. This is what she came up with. The golden colored leather is also boarhide scraps from another pair of Bells I made.

Western themed light canvas lining with multiple interior pockets:

Put it on the website and it sold overnight. Cowgirl in AB bought it.
Yep they are for sure! Thank you. You’ve made one for your leather work?Scariest thing to grind right there, they make you pay extra attention for sure. Beautiful work all around Dave!
Yeah I've made a batch of three one time, one for me, one for Tim, and one for another friend. After the emotional trauma I suffered while grinding them, I don't know if I'll do any moreYep they are for sure! Thank you. You’ve made one for your leather work?
