Um- let's not piss those guys off. Ever.

I love those military parades, like the Soviets used to do back in the day. I wish our country would do those, but it would never go over well. There was a victory parade in DC after the first Gulf War in DC, which was the closest thing I've ever seen in the US. It was awesome! Even then, after a war which went over like a bake sale (from our end)- there were still douchebags throwing fake blood on the tanks etc. :rolleyes:

It would be nice to see all of the cool toys that our tax dollars pay for assembled at once.

Nop man, country and party aren't the same thing, but that army you're cheering for is controlled by PARTY and and it will roll over your people and other people, whenever party orders that.

I don't think 1989 and Tianamem square was that long ago to forget it, or what was happening in Chine during cultural revolution or later on.
Hell, even internet is censored as much as they can...

Hey Gator, yep it is the same army. However, now that China has more international attention and prestige the government wouldnt pull crap of that scale again for fear of bad image.

And, forgive my ignorance, but dont pretend America is the symbol of peace and freedom, and done nothing morally incorrect.

Again, not trying to bash on your or this good thread, dont get worked up over it.

2* That is an interesting moral equivalent. And not one I would make or want to try and argue for. I will leave that to much sillier people. Since when has totalitarian regimes given a wiff about "morals"? The State is everything..... and the people are happy and cheerful in their lives - dictated by the Great Leaders
