My first ever directly bought CPK was an original LC which I believe was $365 or maybe $385 at the time over 10 years ago a few month before the birth of this sub in Jun 2016. I think that the new LC bought directly from is now $725 (was a bit less during the pre-order) because everything has almost doubled in costs and prices over this past decade, so this does not come as a huge surprise. I still think that basic format CPKs are still underpriced by maybe up to 20% but that is because Nathan is doing his best to deliver the best bang for the buck, which is his business philosophy which in term has kept him in the game with growing successes while many others have either already failed of are floundering during the tougher times.
There is still some value in these harder to come by CPKs which Nathan is knowingly leaving on the table but who am I to suggest otherwise while he has paved his own path to successes in his own way adhering to his own philosophy. It is not upsetting to me when I see the same items from a prior Friday's sale showing up with that 15-20% mark up on the Exchange (although I rarely buy them there) because I deem them to still be in that true value range, if the seller wishes to squeeze a few more $ out of it. My post above is just my opinion about speculating on the Bay in these uncertain times which we are and will be facing. I do believe that some of Nathan's knives are worth a heck of a lot more these days but those are some very unique knives which were greatly undervalued and under priced back when.
