man. what a day. probably should have just gone out and gotten some Bourbon to relax ;) too many chocolate power zombie hearts though - not safe for a single guy to wander around

but yeah, even leaving bed, taking off the straight jacket, and turning on the phone. some days it's even a mistake to log in ;P

well. that said, i had a nice bowl of icecream, and a beer, and a pseudo-woodo-fed for that post-nasal drip, and it's bed time.

How'd everyone's V-Day go? Mine was low key, we're not super into the V-Day hype so we just had Thai food take out, watched a movie with the kid, then enjoyed some adult activities after the little one went down ;) :thumbup:

Had a nice day. Got the wife a card, flowers, and box of chocolates. She fixed me a nice dinner, then, since her father is out of town, we went to his house skinny dipping, haha. A nice day indeed.
 
Sounds like good times! Got the wife a few (5) boxes of chocolates because i know we have 2 little greedy kids and i like chocoloate too lmao, and got her some salon fingnernail polishes, a UV light to dry her nails, some dotting tools and designing tools for fingernails and some other shit, man i didnt know all this existed for some fingernails. she has always done an excellent job on her own nails and she loves going to the salon but it gets pricey. normally she designed her own nails with toothpicks and other things and people would always comment on her nails so i figured if she had all the right stuff she could really do some nice designs.

Wife ended up getting the kids a few boxes of chocolates too....

We let the kids pick anywhere they wanted us to go for dinner and the little basterds picked mcdonalds, so they got happy meals and we said damn that and got sushi to go.

Wife got me alot of different jerkey since lately i been eating it like its going out of style, plus she bought me a scrapyard scrapivore, well she picked it off my long list of knives to buy and since the wait would have been 4-16 weeks from scrapyard, yesterday we looked at the exchange together and found one for cheaper and still new.

And since i was asked previously i will say the alligator jerkey is good, i like it quite a bit, it does have a little bit of a fish flavor but not strong.. But the kangaroo is excellent! i mean that stuff is the ticket! i want to head over to the outback and grab a few Roo's now lmao.... Hey Cam help a brother out lmao

Id place them in this order kangaroo, beef, buffalo, venison, alligator, boar, turkey... the only one i did not like was the terriyaki turkey. peppered turkey was ok tho.


Now everyones asleep, its quiet, peaceful, the site seems to be working better and i still have a couple black and tans from my last bout. A great day indeed!

Glad everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves... now the weekend is just over the hill....
 
Since I read your first post about the jerky I've been trying to hunt down some good roo jerky for myself...No such luck. Probabaly have to have a good look this weekend. Have you tried emu (a large ostrich like bird)? Thats another unusual meat I wanna try.
 
Nope not emu, i have tasted ostrich tho..it was so long ago i cant remember the taste. and it was only an inch square sample piece at a meat market. I figure kangaroo would be alot easier to get there, and probably cheaper. I honestly expected to like the gator and the venison the best but thats not how it worked out. my wife really liked it best as well. she is already planning a Big Roo only bag for my birthday in a few weeks, and im already planning to lock it in a safe.... literally. She just wants to say its for me, lol
 
Ok so im watching kung fu, the legend continues and i have not seen it in 20 years since it first came out but season 1 episode 3 i think has a Mr. becker in it..No resemblence. just thought id share lmao.

Also it was better 20 years ago but the guy still sounds cool when he talks lol

Does gator have a fishy flavour? People who have eaten saltwater crocodile here say its like a fishy chicken. I've never actually stopped at a butcher shop and looked at each individual meat so I can't say for sure how common roo meat is here but I can tell you theres lots of kangaroos here if you head out of the city they're pretty common.
 
yea theres a little bit of fishy flavor, but not overpowering. id say more like fishy beef than chicken lol but not strong fishy. and it taste good.
 
Ostrich jerky is nowhere near as good as the kangaroo jerky, that stuff is hands down one of the most amazing jerkies ever made.
