I'm partial to venison jerky myself. A friend of ours has some crazy, industrial jerky gettup, so when we bring a deer in we let him make us up a nice couple batches.

Everything tastes better with the satisfaction of knowing you harvested the animal yourself and can shure with your friends and family. Good stuff :thumbup:

They look decent in the shot. May or may not be very telling. I'd love to pick something like that up for an upcoming outdoors trek.

I wouldnt hold out high hopes for the canteen though. I find anytime a canteen comes in a set with other items it tends to suffer in quality. Is there an o-ring sealing it?
 
So, I am trying to decide between new gun or new knife(s). I have about $550 to blow this check.

Looking at getting a Ruger or a Sig, or a small S&W.

I'd look hard at the S&W Shield (if you can find one). Have read a lot of good reviews, but haven't been able to find one locally to handle or shoot.
 
Bk-2, ESEE-5...

I already have the king, 5, &7. I don't NEED a 2. I don't think. I really don't need both the BK2 and E5.

I know I'm getting the 10 & 12. Those aren't being figured into this.
 
You looking at a carry type gun or a fun shooter? My initial thought is stick with a Sig or S&W. Rugers aren't bad, but I've grown to really dislike their trigger and fit & finish compared to other options that are supposed to be direct competitors.

If you're already planning on the 10 and 12, I'd hold off on the 2 and ESEE 5 and get the gun. I think there is a lot of overlap on those blades, not that there is anything wrong with that, but out of those four, you may end up using or preferring just 1 or 2 so stick with the two you know you're going to get for now.

My wife said to say thanks. When I told her I was going to grab a couple of new tools she immediately saw $200, not $20. :) Got my files and hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to use them around helping some friends move. Leave to WI people to choose the one day the temps will be in the teens to choose to move.
 
Holy smokes, have y'all seen this asteroid stuff? Apparently a huge asteroid that came out of no where is gonna fly by the earth only about 15,000 miles away today at 2:24 est.

Crazy stuff!
