This post got me a little wet below the eyes
good post PR, im not sure if its complete bullshiet but im with ya.

Kinda hard to fake a picture like that, yea? "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" takes on a new meaning in a situation like that...

Man i love MTBing, was pretty avid in crosscountry at the age of 14-17/18. Even became dutch champion when i was 16. Blazing down single tracks through the woods at 35kmh gives an incredible feeling of freedom.
Now, almost 10 years later i have got an early heritage from my dad, his weak lower back.
Even when riding the streets on my Koga mtb i can feel it radiate to my legs.... Its getting better though, having a real good chiropractor.
Badly want to go freeriding/northshore but i just dont think its wise at this point.

Not as difficult as you would think PR. The right person could have that pic manipulated into you riding a white unicorn through a buffalo colon in a matter of min's. I believe your photo bro. ;)

Riding bikes was an everyday thing for me back a few years ago, I’d like to get something to pedal around on now but the prices are a bit much for me to swallow at this point. I’m currently saving for the motorbikes as of right now :)

but you're in the netherlands - isn't it legal there? wink, wink :D i had an officemate who resigned two years ago and moved there just for that  i'm partial to the red light district though so whatever floats his boat.

Not really getting your point tbh.
If its about the freeriding/NS thing; Its perfectly legal there is just no place for it. The highest of "mountains" are just hills here. So called urban freeriding popped in my mind but i don't wanna screw my back with jump landings.
The best freeride area i know of would be the bikepark in Winterberg, Germany. They made a complete park dedicated to every aspect of freeriding.

i am lucky, i live at the base of mount Seymour and now i am out of school i can ride anytime i want. plus i just got a new bike

That Winterberg park looks awesome, there are some sweet youtube videos. I know Hans Rey used to do a ton of freeriding in Germany, and France has both the Alps and the Pyranees. I always wanted to do a cross country trip through Transylvania, there are some sweet mountain ranges in Hungary and Romania, namely the Carpathians.

Sent the email request to mom for the picture. The frame is a GT Xizang, it was built to spec from the ground up and I chose a rigid fork. It's not a particularly old bike, but definately pre-carbon fiber era. It's titanium. The fork weighs 1.8 pounds versus the 4-5 pounds most cross country forks weigh nowadays. It allows the front end to float above alot of the stuff suspension forks have to plow through. I abused that fork for a few years before it finally snapped, I hit an errosion resistance log funny on the way down, followed by a 2-3 foot drop where I landed front wheel first (oops). As long as the steer tube fits your bike you can pick up decent rigid forks on ebay-Sybex, GT 3D and Balogna Lite... you'll probably need a threaded stem though. If you can't find one buy an old school 80mm Rock Shox Mag 21, Quadra 21 or Judy SL-they run pretty cheap and weigh about 3 pounds-pre lawsuit era, where everybody got so scared of being sued due to fork failure that they beefed them up.

My buddy rode a Karakoram and broke the frame and in some freak warranty accident ended up getting it replaced with a Xizang for free! Very cool frame.

I'm still rocking the '97 Zaskar LE. I have a '95 Backwoods frame, a '95 (maybe, whatever the first year was) Judy xc with long travel kit and the Judy SL that came on the Zaskar.

Cool, I'll have someone to ask about bikes when I'll be getting a new one.
And since marijuana was mentioned and Netherlands, from what I understand there is some card system going on that makes it possible to get only 3 joints a day in the coffee shops that sell 'em. Or sth like that, since it's second hand information

hahaha yes its legal. But opposite of what people think, we arent smoking that stuff all day every day :)
I'm not a fan of weed myself. It has a weird taste to it and it doesnt really have a effect on me and thats not because of regular use ;)
Hash on the other hand i do like every now and than.

Albeit, I do understand the humor. I am often amazed at some of what you write. Keep up the shock value. Dig it.

Attention to self for the shocking nature of the comment was not the point; the point is how shocking the methodology of rhetoric can be.
That comment was an insinuation made by an anti marijuana propaganda film created some years ago.
I thought I made the irony clear enough, but as Jonathon Swift also experienced with his attempt, I too have found myself being misunderstood and “edited.”

no misunderstanding...Content just does not belong bro..., Jean,Crow,Jonathon your not misunderstood just bad timing & wrong threads

What is the bag your carrying ?, looks 'just right'

Tim

maxpedition falcon 2. i like it since like you noticed, i can really squish it down flat with the compression straps and it looks a lot smaller than it's true capacity. it's my edc.

cool pics !
those look to be Baby Toads

thanks, bro. i was tempted to snack on them if only i could catch one :p fast little buggers!

You mountain bikers are crazy. Especially the hardcore guys, like my buddy at work, who goes down some hills so steep that he actually put Dicky and the boys in jeopardy with the back wheel just keep his balance.

Eff that noiz. I'll keep my GT Timberline and the street. I ain't takin' no bike in no hills. I gots muh feet fer that, thankyooverymooch.

You should check into disc brakes. They're awesome. Much better than the rim style ones. The MB'ers I know swear by them and those thumb-switch shifters.
