Took the NWA knife for a hike, pic heavy.

Looks like an awesome knife all around and a good size for most chores. I really like the style/profile of NWA knives.

That's a heck of a idea Thayne:thumbup: That stone fits perfect. I really appreciate you taking time out, to post these pics, and give more info. about the way the knife handles different tasks.

Thanks
Nick:)

Believe me, it's fun to do :D My wife laughs that I bring all this wood home, and sit out in the garage and play!

This thread is making me cry!!!!! I was thinking of buying one and finally did...then I was thinking that I REALLY wanted 2 of them. I debated for a little while but never did order the second one. Now I'm wishing I did... :(
Thanks for the great photos and write up on the knife...

Thanks for your thoughts on the NWA knife. Those are some great pictures ..... looks like fun. I chose not to purchase one due to my own indecisiveness about the thumb notch itself ..... thanks for the comment on that one ..... looks like I missed out on a great knife.

I'm glad that Nick's craftsmanship is getting the recognition it deserves.

  for one of the good guys.

Couldn't agree more! I have 2 of Nick's knives & they handle anything I've put them through with ease.

tknife....Excellent review & pics!

Great review tknife. How does the knife feel in the reverse grip, like when slicing a banana. Does the bottom guard get in the way at all? Glad I got one of these baby’s at the last minute.

Glad to see this thread surface again :) I've used this knife so much in the past month, more than I've used any other knife in 6 months. I use it in the kitchen all the time, and feels just right in any grip I've used. The guard hasn't gotten in my way at all really, but if using on a cutting board, the guard will hit before you can rock down all the way to the bottom of the blade. No biggie really, still slices and dices like crazy.
The wide blade and thumb notches make it nice to choke up on for fine cutting. I can pinch it between my thumb and forefinger and it peels like crazy. For being a robust length and size, it's still light and can whittle all day!

NWA tells me mine is on the way. Should be here on Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing it. Pics to follow.

Tknife - cool idea with the pocket hone. Stupid question. Don't you risk slicing the sheath with it set up like that?

KR

It may get a nick or two over time, but I've done that with several sheaths without too much of a problem. You just have to be careful, and go slow.

Hey cool, hope you can post pics when you get it!

I send them sharpened at 22 deg.

I am going to be making these 5 at a time as I want to try and keep my mind fresh, by not doing all of the grinding, all of the handles etc. etc. I have all of the blanks ready to go with all of the pin holes drilled. I hope everyone will be happy with this method.

Thanks
Nick:)

Hey Nick, I'm going to make a thread about how you're shipping them if that's cool.

I know I am. :p Thanks Nick. Sorry guys not trying to rub it in. Yep, I plan on making some pics as soon after I get it as I can.

Also, didn't I remember that the official UN/NATO/World spec proper angle to sharpen knifes was 22 1/2 degrees. Thought I read that somewhere. :D :barf:

Please do Thayne, I really appreciate all of the help you offer:thumbup:

You're one up on me, I dragged my feet trying to decide and before I knew it , it was too late. After seeing those pictures I knew I made a mistake.
