Took the NWA knife for a hike, pic heavy.

It's very cool to see makers from our community here get the recognition they deserve. Nick makes an awesome handmade knife at a price that is close to factory knives, just amazing! Glad your first custom was a good experience :D Hope you can post pics when you get your Kydex made.

WOW! thanks Thayne:D I really appreciate that:thumbup: I'm totally at a loss for words right now.

Thanks man
Nick:)

I wasn't sure if I should use the pic of it when it was nice and new, or the dirtied up well used, and well loved version :D

I think you made the right decision. You have made my day.

Nick:)

I like the used picture - it's got character! (not that the shiny-new knife doesn't, but you know what I mean)

The people getting these now are so lucky!

Rick.

Yup that's another reason I like tool steal, gets that awesome patina with use.

Thanks Nick, you deserve the recognition bud!

Just a note to everyone who has not got there’s yet, you are in for a treat.

The thing that is amazing me is the levels of appreciation for this knife. The first initial reaction is: Wow! This thing is amazing well made and beautiful. So you focus and pour over the amazing fit and finish for a while.

Then you use it for the first time, whether it is just paper, an apple, or whatever. The reaction from this is: Holy crap this thing cuts like a laser. Cannot believe for such a thick and stout blade how well it will slice and dice and just cut anything.

I am now waiting for the first time I carry it and use in the field. Just from my first day with it and from tknife's experience, I know that I will gain another level of appreciation for this blade and the master skills of Nick. I have no doubt that I will be singing the same song as tknife and proclaiming it as my constant wilderness companion.

On a personal note, I notoriously have an initial buyer’s remorse on almost any purchase I make. Did I buy the right knife? Did I get one with good fit and finish, or one that slipped through QC? Was it really worth the money I paid for it? The moment I opened the box with this knife I felt none of that at all; just a great feeling of satisfaction. It really was a great purchase and buying process.

Sorry if this is a little much, but I just wanted to let Nick and everyone else know what a great knife everyone is getting here.

Thanks for the insight there PJMAXM, I read & re-read all the post of the NWA knife and Tknife post & pics and I purchased a pair , 1 for me and my lil' buddy(aka : my son ) I am savoring all tknife post to hold me over and everybodies post&pics until the day I receive my very own and I will surely post pics & my humble opinion being the NWA knife will be my very 1st. custom knife(knives)purchase,Later TD

I'm glad that you guys are liking your knife as much as I do. I usually like just about any knife I get, but this one is special. I look forward to getting out and using it as much as I can. I hope I haven't sounded like a broken record about it though :D

This thread is torture! I didn't realize that he had already done a few. Glad im 18 on the list. This knife was a big purchase for me. I don't have alot of money(most goes to bills,my cats and guns) and I don't collect knives. When I saw this knife I knew I had to have it. This is going to be my main camp knife, for years to come. I can't wait!

Anyone here have Nicks Sportsman or the Skinner to compare to the Wilderness?? Just curious if there are any advantages to the ones I am already using... :)

Thanks,
2Door Formerly just Bill

tknife, you're killin' me with your review and your signature. I want mine too but unfortunately I'm number 19 on "The List." Oh well, I guess it beats being number 93, or whatever. ;)

I've been too busy to get any leatherwork done around here and am thinking that I may want to add a sheath after all. What do I need to do to take care of that?

Shoot Nick an email. I think he makes the sheath after the knife is done anyway. It doesn't add too much to the price.
Glad you're liking the pics. I enjoy taking them :D
