Top 3 Production Folders

Camillus Dominator- Solid, Strong, Very good quality, Incredibly handy

Greco Falcon- I will never break or harm this knife, unless I gain about 100 pounds of muscle.

Benchmade 941D2CF- Self Expanatory.

The Greco may not be considered "factory", but it sure is in the price range.

Spyderco ( Military, Calypso Jr., Endura ), Benchmade ( AFCK, AFCK Jr. ), MicroTech ( SOCOM MA ) ... all PE Best fit and finish...MicroTech, Best ergos ( IMHO ) Spyderco ( all ), Most used by me...Spyderco

BM 806D2
Buck/Mayo
Spyderco Native

Honorable mention:
BM 705

I'm happy to say that I own and use examples of each.

After sifting through a pile of EDC "hard use" folders in the past few years, my top three look a lot like everyone else's on this thread.

In no particular order, my EDC rotation:

Al Mar SERE 2000 - Tremendous construction, solid lockup, functional blade design, solid heft, and great steel.

Spyderco Military - Large, but ultra thin, best slicer I've ever used, super lightweight, great fit for large hands.

Microtech LCC - Manual or Auto, just a great knife. Best looking folder ever IMO, fantastic quality, extra-stabby blade geometry. A true "gents tactical".

I have just tried and tried to expand my horizons to other brands in this category, but I keep coming back to:

BM 710- This is my "knife to beat" when looking for a new folder in the 4" range. I just love everything about it; the blade length to handle length ratio on it is my personal "ideal".

BM AFCK(axis)- It's just bada$$, but for me comes in second 'cause the handle is so long, and the newer ones' handles are even longer than before.

Spyderco Police- The only one I don't own and have NEVER owned. Damn, but everytime I get the opportunity to get one, something comes up... I have handled it, lusted after it, but just can't seem to tie one down. It only comes in third 'cause I haven't OWNED one... yet:)

BM - Ares 732-D2, 710
Kershaw - Avalanche, Boa
CRKT - M1
Seki Cut - Hiro Little Blue
Sorry - can not pick 3 from this 6 knives I like, sometimes it is one I like better sometimes another. I hope you understand me.
Chive and Dragonfly also two nice knives.
Buck 110 - BG42...
Thanks, Vassili

Benchmade Griptillian (or mini axis afck if there were one)
Spyderco Delica- purely for value
Opinel/Douk Douk- some of the hardest knives to beat

Ok, I know that I kept my prices under 100 bucks, even under 50 bucks. I tend to realize the true value of a knife by comparing it to it's price. Sure my Sebenza is my favorite knife, but for the price my fiance paid, it should be. The Douk Douk is under 20 bucks and is about the most bombproof slipjoint I've ever held.

BM710HS, Camillus Dominator, BM806D2 are probably the best knives under $200 that I own. It's hard to beat the AXIS lock on the Benchmades and this is why the BM710HS has been my main EDC. The BM806 is a great knife, but it's a bit large for my EDC, and the 710HS still hasn't been replaced. There's just something about the BM710HS, like others have mentioned, that make it such a great knife. I think everyone should try and handle the 710HS if they haven't already. I have a SERE2000, but I like these 3 better.

Number 1: Al Mar SERE 2000. Anything else is less. Brutally strong, superb VG10 steel, top ergonomics. If cast adrift on a desert island, this is the one I'd want in my pocket.

Equal second:

Benchmade 710. Mine's the HSSR (semi-serrated, M2 steel). Elegant, purposeful, secure.

Spyderco Military in S30V. Debatably the best knife steel available, big yet light, punches far above its weight.

When you own these three, it becomes very difficult to dream up a reason to buy anything else. I manage, though...

Benchmade-710
Camillus-Dominator
Tops-ThunderHawk
Microtech-LCC,Socom Elite
MOD-Tempest
Kershaw-BOA

I have every one of these and would consider them as must haves, best of the best.

In second place standing in my line up is the SERE 2000,Military,Benchmade 730,940,806,and 805.

I've been out of Blade Forums and the knife scene for a year and I'm surprised to see the same knives listed as favorites. Since I own some of the ones mentioned (Police, 710 Axis,...) I'm rather elated.

But hasn't there been any new hot, "must have" releases recently? Trying to catch up.
