It was on June 12th when he agree to credit me $25 but ask me to wait until payday June 20th. I post this thread today wanting to know other members point of view? Should I push for a trade back, or fair to ask for credit. IDK really, but since he agree to credit me $25, I've gone ahead and ship the blade to Benchmade to have them put the factory edge back on. No matter how, this 710 will NEVER be new.

Good news is that, just today Benchmade email me confirming they got the knife and will work on it. 8-10 days turn around time.

Well, my POV is that you have no choice now that you've returned the knife to Benchmade. You can no longer undo the deal because you won't have the knife in the condition in which you received it. Nor do you have it in hand. Hopefully, he will send you the $25 tomorrow as he agreed to do and if he does not, then the issue becomes one where he hasn't lived up to the modified deal. If you kept the emails/communications where he agreed to the modification, then you would have to leave it in the hands of the mods to decide if the "new" deal is enforceable.

Of course, just my POV as you requested from other members. ;)

Best of luck. I hope it all turns out for the good for you both.

I trade for it for my collection......I would never trade if I knew it was used, especially black coating blade. No disrespect to anyone, if my knife is NEW, I expect same in return.

Understood. Appreciate the feedback to my question.

It sounds like he agreed to your request long before this thread existed, so it really wasn't necessary. You told him what you wanted, he said he'd do it. The one thing I'd have issued with is his refusal to reverse the trade in the first place. If that's what you really wanted, that's what he should have done.

It is me estate4life traded with. Do not understand why you opened this thread when we have an agreement about I'll add $25 to complete our deal. Not even let me know about this thread :thumbdn:

Now I'm not sure what to do. Your name were mentioned 2 or more times in this section - you or your customer were also not satisfied. Were you satisfied with ANY trade/sale???

Knife I've traded, its pics are still up on thread in trade section. Knife was not used at all.

I request towards a $25 credit because a trade back was rejected in the first place. If I were being hardball, I would of started this thread during that time. The knife is obviously used....admit it. It is either NEW or not. Not possibly.

All that being said. C'mon 8 days for credit? sigh......ok then, once I get my $25....this case is close. No name disclose.

No, not towards you or any members that responded....this thread sole purpose is to discuss and get members ideas, point of view if they were in such scenario. What could have been done.
BTW: my Estate4life has been mention here....but none relates to any transaction here on BF.
Whom dealt with me knows, I will always hold my end of any deal.

This thread seems like it should have been made on the 12-13th and not the day before the agreed uponed credit of 25$. Especially after you already sent it to benchmade. But I do agree that you had to write to ask for a trade back.

Since you mention that my username pop up on here, the GBU forum...it's very funny that none relates to actually transaction here on bladeforum. All my deals here on BF were positive, some can be better. If something about to go bad, I'll try to make it work. I did not name names on this thread....

Funny thing is both times members name my username here....

1st one intentionally register on BF to do it. I had a deal gone bad on eBay and they freeze his account. He register and post here....BF let new user do that.

2nd one post my name, just to see if I should be a dealer membership? I paid for Platinum, I think that is good enough.

So you don't have to have a bad deal here on BF, to enlist your name into the GBU thread....LOL....

I had this experience, I listed my PM2 sprint for sale for $200, then first member want to buy post I take it, but then back out because he saw my name on GBU thread. So I withdrawn the PM2.....but another member contact me asking why I withdraw, I said I change my mind not to sell, he then offer me $250 for my orange PM2...LOL....so I made $50 more.

Man, this thread seems completely unnecessary and borderline attention whoring. The credit was agreed to a week ago, should've been end of story.

What?

Am I to understand that this entire thread is well after the fact?

The trader has agreed to come up with some extra green and BenchMade already has the knife for re-sharpening?

Then what is/was the point of this thread in the first place?

Now I understand why the obvious solution of returning the knives was not possible.

I think the OP has shot himself in the foot with this one. :foot:

I thought credit will be issue to me today, but not yet. Just got an email saying, need one more week.

Ok, I'll wait.....

Just saw the "delete my account" thread by Laurin.....serious? because of this thread and my $25 credit request. I did not mean for this. Did I went over the line? Sorry...

No, I don't think you did. Instead, it looks like you flushed out a trader who doesn't keep his word.

+1 he isn't sending you any money now. Likely never was. Anytime some tries to delete an account after a thread like this. They are on the run.

At least you will get your 710 back with a proper edge minus a little metal. Not much you can do now unfortunately.
