Trade Gone Bad. Not sure what to do next. User REFUSING to return Trade.(KillteamTRS)

IMAG0031.jpg

Please note the bottom picture it shows it best. At midpoint the blade veers off to the left and then bends back at the tip with the tip being noticeably bent. Basically an S curve in the blade looks like someone used it as a prybar then straitened it out. Makes sense why he hand sanded it down now...

So after close ups not only is the tip bent but the blade is warped? Basically it looks like someone jambed this thing in and twisted then tried to fix and sanded it down....

I took this to pm's first.

He blatently refused and became combative.

His tone changed once I posted this thread.

Now hes back to telling me to screw off.

Yes I left feedback and shortly after I realised (it was brought to my attention.) that the knife was bent.

If am to be told to go pound sand so be it.

However I would like for a mod to tell me to go pound sand.

Edit:
I did not join JD to post the other thread. I was already a member of my own accord.

After reviewing your pictures and video numerous times i cannot come to a clear decision based upon them due to their poor quality.

After reviewing this entire thread further and referencing the quoted and bolded portion of your statement, i can only come to the conclusion that you realised the tip was bent and left him positive feedback anyways telling him it was good to go...releasing him from any obligation to you. You also stated in your video you had this laying on the table for a couple days before taking action. This is plenty amount of time for you to have done your inspection and contacted the seller.

I'm sorry to say, but i believe you now own that knife.

You may seek restitution elsewhere but bear in mind that when you charge someone or sue, the action may be reciprocal and you may not like the outcome anymore than you probably like this one.

To You Both:

Your actions on the exchange have repercussions. It is always best to treat others as you would wish to be treated and act in a friendly upright manner with each other, be honest in your descriptions and make all arrangements clear to both parties.

Holy crap!! I didn't see the pictures or video before.

You definitely need to pursue this.

I know it takes up a lot of space to reply, quoting you, and including the pictures, but I think the bend in the blade of that $40 knife warrants it in this case.

You probably will want to book a ticket to Washington DC ASAP; You'll have to check the knife though, or send it ahead. The members of congress will want to see it when you testify.

This is fraud as I did not receive what I was expecting. I agree it is arbitrary. Its 45 bucks. It never should have become this. He screwed me and will likely get away with it until the next victim.
I don't understand what you mean by "it is arbitrary", but I agree this man needs to be stopped! Think of the children!

Just out of curiosity, you do know you're starting to look like kind of a douche because of this, right?

Karda - Thankyou for your moderation. I appreciate your time in this circus of a matter.

Please lock this out to the archives.

I will now pursue personal measures regarding this.

Edit:

Eastside your the one looking like a douche I dident ask for your opinion. You are however welcome to give it on a public forum. I bet the time you used to post something that is meaningless to you and doesn't concern you was time WELL SPENT. Thank you for your input.

I'm sorry, I just find it ridiculous that someone would go to the police over this.
Also, something seems wrong about wasting taxpayer money (likely more than the knife is worth) to get someone a knife back that they traded away to someone from the internet.
Even more money from the federal agency.

Rich- I understand your point and hate that it has come to this. Ideally I would not like to take this course of measure. I will not pursue the PD in lue of what you said as it has hit home and it IS a waste of valuable resources. I will pursue matters with the postal service however. Thank you for your input, advice received solidly.

Karta- Done deal. Thankyou for your moderation.

Mods Please close or lock or delete or however you care to handle this.

USPS - Form
Local PD - File over phone. No flight required.

Been here before. Not new to this. I have been an avid forum member (of various forums) since 2001 (I'm 23). I have been scammed twice in that time. Never had to fly anywhere to handle it.

Karda- Pics incoming ASAP.

Hammer -I did'nt lose it in the woods or I'd be spending my time in the woods looking for it retracing my steps (of course it would have been dummy corded in the woods.) I traded for an unsatisfactory knife. User is refusing to reverse trade. This is fraud as I did not receive what I was expecting. I agree it is arbitrary. Its 45 bucks. It never should have become this. He screwed me and will likely get away with it until the next victim.

And what happens when he has his own legal counsel and challenges you in court? Do you really think he'll just let you accuse him of a felony?

The point of the analogy was this. If you lost such a minor thing you wouldn't be calling SAR, that's a waste of resources and ridiculous. So even if this person is a diabolical scammer, craftily bending Cold Steal knives and hiding that from unsuspecting traders, is it really worthwhile to go to the police?

So you came to two different forums and didn't get the answer you want, so now you're going to keep going until someone agrees with you? Just drop it.

You can lock it yourself....."Thread Tools" in the right hand corner of your browser window.

I still don't see the issue being controversial. He got the knife, looked it over, liked what he saw enough to send positive feedback saying all was good to go. From that point on, he owns the knife.

Back off folks.....

I want my previous post answered.

Edit; i see you answered while i wrote that.

Nobody's backing off anything Karda.

I've been a member here in good standing for nearly a decade longer than you, Mod or not. I'm not going to shush up because a moderator says so.

This guy's been acting as the royal douche in two places on the net now, maybe others, over something he said was fine. Still is by the look of it.

the blade does look slightly bent to the left in the second pic. The top pic just looks like an uneven grind. It is hard to tell anything without seeing the whole blade.

Slug- you should have inspected the knife immediately upon reciept or within the first day. when you wait 2 days to inspect a knife then want to reverse the trade, you very well could have bent the knife yourself.

KillteamTRS- personally, I think the knife is bent. Whether you did it or Slug did it is immaterial. However, the fact that he originally said he was GTG and gave positive feedback pretty much negates any further obligation you have to return the knife.

EastSideRich- you don't contribute anything to this thread, perhaps it is better for you to read more and post less until you become more familiar with how things are done around here. You are just stirring the pot with your useless postings.

He can't lock threads as a registered user.

Sorry Pete Parker, but despite how much longer you've been here, I'm the one trying to civilly mediate and moderate here. If you do not heed instruction from any mod on this site then dont complain when you are infracted.

As far as I am concerned this matter is over.

The MOD made the final call and that's all there is to it. I respect the opinion.

I will not involve police as I feel the above user is correct its a waist of resources.

Live and learn.

Slug,

Your actions were akin to a balk in baseball- you had good intentions, but you jumped the gun, poorly informed, when you left positive feedback; thus, you balked, so you eat it unfortunately. If you hate that bend in the knife, like I would, just donate it to a homeless guy or a social organization. Someone can really put that thing to good use despite the bend, and you'll feel damn good about donating it.

Peace.

Um,,,

Fresh Air,

Donating a knife to homeless guy (high potential of mental illness or a drug user) is about the worst advice you can possibly give. Sell the knife for what you can get and buy the homeless guy some bottled water and a sandwich with bacon in it.

Within reason, of course. C'mon now cj65, you're a bit concrete in your way of thinking.
