Traditional and Modern pairings

Lately it's been these. I carry at work the SnG in a fantastic leather sheath I purchased from R.Müller with my MSP linerlock, paired with either the Peanut or the 2011 forum knife. The Strider and the 2011 are a match made in heaven, but the peanut is nice too. However it loves to slip out of my pockets unnoticed.

I think that a strider and the 2011 forum knife would just be about perfect. Though I am biased, the trad that I covet most is that years forum knife, and the OHO I want most is a Strider.

Its hard to say why these are such a great match. I love both of them, they just work. After I read your post I noticed my Peanut had slipped out of my pocket again. I found it under the table. That's the 3rd time this happened today and I take this as a sign that the nut is not at home in workpants and dirty engine rooms. So I went and got my 2011. Ying and yang is restored again. My pockets are deep however the light and smaller nut works its way out. The leather pouch and weight of the GEC keeps it down and in perfect position. I carried this combo all week and I'll continue with it now. The Strider is for the dirty work. It fits perfectly without the clip in the sheath, and rides flat at my 3 o'clock. The 2011 is for the quick sandwich and other smaller cutting tasks. The screwdriver makes it just that more useful. It just feels right. I also made a video trying to explain myself.

Outside of work I rarely clip a knife to my pocket. This is where the Peanut and other slippies reign. However a Delica or a Hinderer may find its way there.

Yeah this is an old thread but I feel like I must say mine because, and I have always used that combo, plus a SAK. Always a case med. stockman CV in Chestnut bone (which I just cleaned up and re profiled and the patina really coming in with the gleaming edge was incredibly thrilling to me. I love that knife) and a Spyderco Chokwe recently, although occasionally I carry a sage 2, endura, PM2, BM710 or a kershaw scallion or leek. My one hander always changes I suppose, but I love that stockman and it does most of the cutting. pulling out a black and camo PM2 is usually not necessarily, but usually makes some folks nervous. But that little sheepsfoot on the stockman does all of the work as well, if not better, and never offends. I seek a one hander to make this a perfect pairing, and there are some really beautiful blades on this threads, I feel unworthy, especially posting on an old thread, never sure about the etiquette there, just loved the topic.

This thread comes back up from the bottom regularly. It's one of my favorites too. Here's the official guideline;

Thread "necromancy" is frowned upon. Please do not resurrect dormant threads simply to say "nice knife" or the like.
If you have something substantive to add to the discussion then by all means do so, otherwise move on and let sleeping dogs lie.

I always figure if you're telling us what your "pairing" is then that's substantive. Feel free to add some pics

Thanks,

I figure I'm ready for most anything today, knifewise that.

I just checked the COA and it doesn't specify...
That bothers me, a manufacture (purveyors are guilty of this too) should note who made the damascus and what type of steel was used. This is important for two reasons, 1) how to care for the damascus and 2) the damascus forger should be recogized for his/her ability and craftsmanship.

Nice...
Your daily carry? I'm wondering what you're up to :D

Is it a NMFBM? I only have a BAD, I'm afraid I would never use one of the larger models... (although I'm still tempted ;))

Forgive me brothers in traditional knives for I have sinned (bought my first Spyderco).
